Field Notes has just announced the release of the Field Notes Shenandoah Fall Edition for 2015. The Shenandoah 3 pack of Field Notes notebooks comes with colors to match the trees of the Shenandoah National Park. Each 3 pack comes with one notebook colored to each of the following trees: the Sweet Birch, the Chestnut Oak, and the Red Maple. What a perfect fit for a fall edition of Field Notes.

The Field Notes Shenandoah Fall Edition features duplex covers are made from French paper cover stocks have been fused to a contrasting French text-weight paper that matches that tree’s fall foliage. Rather than just printing the covers on opposite sides Field Notes chose to use the more expensive duplex process. This is done by taking two papers and with adhesive and pressure and fusing them together to make one paper. While the exterior of the notebooks are a green color the interior of the cover are bright vibrant colors. These duplex covers have a beefier feel to them since they are two sheets fused together.

Also on the Field Notes Shenandoah Fall Edition, Field Notes upgraded the body paper inside the notebook to 60#T Finch Opaque “Bright White” with a printed grid pattern. Also on the inside of the back cover each features useful facts about the particular tree.

Since the winter of 2008, Field Notes has issued quarterly limited edition Field Notes Colors. These limited edition runs are only available while they last and offer special papers, colors, printing processes and other things that make them unique. Recent Field Notes Colors editions include the Two Rivers spring edition and the Workshop Companion summer edition. Both of these past two editions were a great success and expect the same for the Field Notes Fall Edition as well.
