The Field Notes Two Rivers notebook is the 26th edition of their colors series. This edition of Field Notes is designed and printed in Two Rivers, Wisconsin at the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum. This Field Notes memo book uses a variety of French Paper Co. papers, inks and hand set wood type designs creating thousand of variations. Each pack of the Field Notes Two Rivers notebook include a random three covers.
For each 3 pack of Field Notes Two Rivers notebooks sold, Field Notes donates $2 to support the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum and their work preserving and presenting American design and printing history and hosting events and hands-on workshops!
Field Notes hand typeset a mess of designs using Hamilton’s collection of vintage type and ornaments. Four unique cover stocks where donated by the French Paper Company of Niles, Michigan and each cover has been printed using two random inks. This process is slow and took eight months at the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum. This process creates random designs and colors were across the run, resulting in thousands of variations. Further variations were introduced thanks to the vagaries of wood type and letterpress printing. Each 3-Pack has three different colored covers and no two 3-Packs are exactly the same.

The design of this special edition Two Rivers notebook is outstanding. Due to the variety of papers used and the letterpress designs, no two notebooks are exactly alike among the 18 (!) that I bought. The paper inside is the usual Field Notes grid style, but the covers are exceptionally attractive. Highly recommended.
