“So here we are; new ink swatch cards with new inks. These are also the latest collection from Wearingeul: Peter and Wendy. Such child-like joy! 🤭 We have three regular inks and two shimmers.” [email protected]

Our Guest Reviewer Loved the Wearingeul Peter Pan Inks:

Thanks to one of our guest reviewers, Christine E. (aka @from.pens.with.love) we’re going to get to know all 5 of the inks in this whimsically adventurous ink collection. Christine, overflowing in inks, worked with a set of ink samples she ordered from us. If you’re interested in working with Peter Pan ink samples instead of the full bottles, you can check to see if there are any in stock.

Let’s dive right in to the inks with @from.pens.with.love – starting with the boy who never grew up, Peter Pan!

“Wearingeul recently released a new series of inks that takes us down memory lane, watching with part laughter bubbling in our throat and part horror when Peter Pan chased his rebellious runaway shadow. 😉 Peter and Wendy is a series of 5 inks. Today I am starting with Peter Pan.

Color: Peter Pan is a light but lovely green ink and offers up some pinks in its swatch. It has a lot of shading which I find very beautiful with this color.

Nib Recommendation: It shows up well in a fine nib, but for full visual effect I think a medium or broad nib would give more pleasure for use.

Flow: Flow is great and as previously experienced with other Wearingeul inks it has a medium wetness.

“Ink 2 out of 5 from their new collection Peter and Wendy.

Color: While this ink initially looks like a beautiful one, and I brought out the broadest nib I have, I am not quite sure what to say as I am not really able to read what I have written. This may work better in a very broad and juicy dip pen, like my Speedball B-3 at the top, or with a paintbrush. For fountain pens however, it’s a no from me.

Nib Recommendation: It seems like super light inks have become more popular lately. For what reason I couldn’t say because I personally am not a fan of inks I can’t see my own writing and I don’t paint/draw with ink. Maybe this ink is meant more for painting? Then I’d like to see a separate collection of inks for this purpose, as up until now, Wearingeul has released nice inks that seem well intended for use in fountain pens. Not that I have tried them all up until this point, of course.

Properties: On the other hand it has some dual shading going on and shimmer.

Flow: The ink flows nicely with medium wetness.

Peter Pan Collection: Tinkerbell Ink Review

“Tinker Bell is the third of five inks in the Peter and Wendy collection I’ll be having a look at.

Color: Here we are looking at a soft green, leaning on olive, leaning on grey. It is lighter than Peter Pan in the same collection, but it is a nice shader.

Properties: In addition, we have some lovely gold fairy dust (shimmer) to complete this ink. There is no sheen or chromo-shading here, but the darker edges that happen in some places in the swatch are a nice and lovely surprise. However, in the writing sample, this doesn’t apply.

It is light, but not too light for my personal preference. I like it!

Wearingeul Peter Pan Ink Collection: Captain Hook Ink Review

“Captain Hook is the fourth ink from the Peter and Wendy collection I’m looking at, leaving one more ink left after this.

Color: Captain Hook is a solid red ink that I like very much.

Flow: Again, it flows nicely, even more so in a somewhat wet nib.

Properties: It’s more solid than the previous inks so it doesn’t offer shading, but instead a wonderful consistency in the letters that goes very well with this color.
In the swatch where a larger amount of ink has pooled up, there are some hints of sheen, although this doesn’t come forth in writing even though the nib offers a wetter line than usual.

For me personally, I am somewhat particular in my taste of red inks, but this ink right here got me on the hook for sure 😉

Tick Tock Croc Ink Review: Swatching and Writing Sample

“The last ink from the Peter and Wendy collection, and we have another solid color.

Properties: No shimmer, little to no shading and sheen visible only in the swatch.

Color: Tick Tock Croc is a green/teal ink that is gorgeous in color, and if I have to pick favorites in this collection, I’ll say this one is right up there along with Captain Hook.

Flow: It behaves beautifully and shows up very well on paper. This, I suspect, is one that will run empty first.
