Discovering Fountain Pen Tips & Hints:

PenBoyRoy put this pen through its paces. During his use of the pen, he not only provided a writing sample (see below), but he also made a few discoveries. We thought we’d share.

Discovery #1: How to Make Ink Splats PenBoyRoy was never quite satisfied with his ink splats. However after watching a quick and simple tutorial, he figured out that he wasn’t blowing enough. For those interested in making good ink splats, Ink Journal has a great tutorial that PenBoyRoy actually watched before taking these images. If you’re always disappointed in your ink splats, check it out. It’s quick and simple. There’s no reason to accept ink splat mediocrity in yourself. Aim high.

Discovery #2: Don’t Blow Too Hard In direct opposition to the 1st discovery, PenBoyRoy also discovered you CAN blow too hard when making a good ink splat. If you aren’t sure if you’re blowing too hard, stop just short of when you start to feel dizzy.

Discovery #3:He’s Not Alone He’s not the only one that loves this version of the popular Visconti Rembrandt. One of his followers responded to a social media post featuring the pen with, “I just picked up that pen. I love it so far. Goes well with Diamine Mistletoe.” -@walltowncraftworks

Which leads us to…

Discovery #4: A Good Pen/Ink Pairing This Visconti fountain pen apparently goes quite well with Diamine fountain pen ink. We love new pen/ink pairing recommendations.

The Visconti Rembrandt Olive Green Fountain Pen: Writing Sample & Final Conclusion

Check out the writing sample in the image above. PenBoyRoy inked the pen with Krishna Poyka sheening ink for these images (and ink splat mastery). You have to appreciate those awesome ink splats – particularly since he only recently felt confident in his ability to create them. That’s an impressive learning curve. In conclusion, if you love the Visconti Rembrandt, you’ll love this exclusive color added to the Pen Chalet inventory.
