Just announced, the Pelikan Edelstein Ink of the Year for 2018 is an olive green color ink. Pelikan received submissions with their contest to design the Edelstein Ink of the Year 2018 over the last month. Pelikan fans all over the world were able to submit their color choices for what they feel should be the ink of the year for 2018.

The multitude of entries was trimmed to the top fifteen designers who’s inks where chosen and they will receive a bottle of Pelikan Edelstein ink of their choice. The field was then narrowed to three designers, each of which will receive bottles of the Edelstein ink of the year for the last three years. Johannes from Cologne was finally selected as the winner and will receive a Souverän M400 for his winning submission as well as the honor of having his color as the Pelikan Edelstein Ink of the Year for 2018.  

Each year Pelikan creates a special edition color for their Edelstein ink collection. The Pelikan Edelstein Ink of the Year is available for only one year while supplies last and then it is gone. The color for 2018 created by Johannes is a beautiful olive green. Pelikan has not announced an official name for the color yet but in years past they have been named after gem stones. Past years have been amethyst in 2015 and garnet the year before with this year’s Edelstein ink of the year as Aquamarine. Each Pelikan Edelstein Ink of the Year has been release in the early spring and we would anticipate this olive green ink to be available early 2018.
