One of the most impressive new pens that the Aurora Pen Company is releasing this year is the Aurora 88 Anniversary Collection. Aurora is making a statement in 2017, that it is one of the premier fine writing manufacturers in the world.  Aurora has announced the release of the Aurora 88 Nebulosa to follow up with last years popular Aurora 88 Sole, then there is the Aurora Optima Rossa, the vintage Aurora Vintage Duo-cart and the economical Aurora Kappa.

Aurora is introducing approximately 8 new colors for the 88 Anniversary Pen Collection during 2017, about one per month, starting in March with the Blue color, then Red in April. Each new Aurora 88 Anniversary fountain pen will be extremely limited to a world wide production of only 188 pens in each color and each pen will be individually numbered on the back of the cap.  One of the best features is the new nib on this pen.  Aurora has decided to offer these pens with a solid gold 14K gold super flexible nib.

The Blue and Red barrel and cap are made with a hand polished glossy resin, which shines wonderfully and is accented with a gold clip and gold band with Aurora’s stylistic lettering.  The Aurora 88 Anniversary collection pens have a small ink window similar to other Aurora 88 models like the Aurora 88 Nebulosa and Aurora 88 Sole.  The Aurora 88 Anniversary Collection Fountain pens retail for $650.

These pens are very limited and initial reaction indicates that there will be an extremely high demand for each new color as they are released.  Pen Chalet was able to view and write with the new Aurora 88 Anniversary Pens at the LA Pen Show last month, in addition to meeting with Aurora’s US Distributor, who has guaranteed Pen Chalet will be receiving some of these pens, both the Blue Aurora 88 Anniversary Pen in March, and the Red Aurora 88 Anniversary Pen in April.  These pens were fabulous to write with and the super flexible nib extraordinary to use.  The nib was wet and produced a wide variation of line widths.
