It has the Aurora logo on the underside of the box lid. And of course, the Aurora Duo-cart fountain pen. It has a resin body with a metal end and a metal cap on the pen. It has some grooves engraved throughout the cap with the Aurora Made in Italy engraved on the cap of the pen, and a plain metal top to the cap. Compression fit cap just snaps on, not magnetic. It just slides on with compression and holds in place, and that cap can also be posted.
It has a matching section with the rest of the resin, and a hood design on the nib with a black feed. It is a cartridge converter style pen so that front section will unscrew from the body of the pen. That allows you to insert an ink cartridge or an ink converter that is included if you would like to use bottled inks. Good little pen. Aurora is an Italian brand. The Aurora Vintage DuoCart fountain pen's nib writes nice and wet. I filled it with Aurora Blue and it took off writing with great flow right away. The pen's barrel is not red, it's maroon. The barrel is a good thickness, it does not feel fragile or cheap, it feels strong and of very good quality. The gold-colored cap has a nice weight to it, and when slip-capped, the fit is snug. The stylish look of this pen is very pleasing. I am happy with this fountain pen!

Fantastic little pen. Fits in the shirt pocket just right and is very classy. The cap is very secure (perhaps too secure) so no accidental leaks or drying out.
Aurora's nibs are masterfully crafted to perform and this pen is no exception; it writes with the same beloved quality that Aurora is famous for--very smooth yet with an audible and tactile sensation sometimes unfairly described as feedback. This medium nib is a "true medium" like a Japanese or vintage American pen and similar to what other European companies call a "fine" nib. Some may knock this pen for having a steel nib, but my experience with this pen is that it has performed better out of the box than pens costing two or three times as much.
I am very enthusiastic about this pen and would buy it again, and I will be a return customer to Pen Chalet. Thank you for the experience.

I purchased the Vintage Duo-cart with the gold top and the dark red body-medium nib. It arrived very fast, and when I opened the package I was thrilled with it! The pen is beautiful! I love the retro design, and the feel of it is very nice. This is the first Aurora pen I have ever owned--and I intend to buy more of them. The ink cartridges work very well, and I have to state that the ink is very nice. Writing with a pen like this, is a pleasurable experience. Now I just need to work at my handwriting skills! My experience with Pen Chalet has been awesome. Great selection of pens, and the website is very easy to maneuver through! Great transaction overall.

The Vintage Duo-Cart by Aurora is definitely a writer's pen. It performs flawlessly every time the nib touches paper, and while it is only offered in one nib size, it seems to be the perfect nib size (something between a western fine and medium) for writing. The pen is reminiscent of the great vintage writers, it's perfectly sized and balanced, even with or because of it's deep posting cap the weight of the pen is perfect. The hooded nib is perfectly tuned and stays wet even during short pauses where other non-hooded nibs may dry out a bit. Most of my favorite writers have gold nibs, but the steel nib on this pen is perfect and could compete with any gold nib for smoothness (though it is definitely rigid). Very happy I secured a Vintage Duo-cart while they were available. I went with the black resin with chrome, but may also pick up a burgundy resin with gold before they sell out.

I love vintage pens and this is a very beautiful vintage-modern pen. the box smell and looks vintage the pen is normal size and light but the cap is heavy.
nib is only medium and is an average medium not too broad like European nibs and definitely not a fine one, its a nice wet nib, it a hard nib no flex. the only thing i don't like is cap, there is no click and it comes off easy
