Creating Your 2022 Fall Ink Palette:
Diamine Shimmering Caramel Sparkle ink is a luscious orange with hints of red and a lot of depth. The ink is also topped by a golden shimmer. At high saturation points, the base ink may appear ringed in such a dark orange that it’s almost black with the golden shimmer creating a bit of a pearlescent or magnetic finish. This ink brings to mind jack-o-lanterns, and leaves deep into the color change Fall brings.
Monteverde Moonstone ink is a woodsy brown with plenty of potential for shading. Earthy and real, the ink somehow encapsulates the underlying bustle of fall as leaves are swept across the chilled ground and squirrels scurry to build up their cache of acorns and nuts for the coming winter.
Robert Oster Purple Rock ink is a deep, dark purple with high saturation deepening the color even further to a purple-black. The ink offers good shading possibilities with lighter saturation/smaller nib widths creating the opportunity for a lighter purple that could almost fall into the pastel range if it didn’t hold on to a bit of the gray tone.
Diamine Oxblood ink is a mainstay all year long, and an all time favorite ink for many, but we love that it’s included on the Top 5 Favorite Fall Inks 2022 list. This profound, dark red ink with a bit of dark green- black sheen (low sheen – generally only apparent at high saturation levels like those created with an ink splash or drop). This well-behaved ink is known to be quick drying. It’s a fantastic addition to the fall color palette we’ve built here.
Dominant Industry Pearl Series Autumn Forest ink is a beautiful mossy green with a pink-red shimmer (all the inks in the Dominant Industry Pearl series are shimmering inks). Labeled a shimmering ink, Autumn Forest also appears to offer shading possibilities. It’s well-behaved, lovely, and constantly interesting…kind of like Fall.
