Monteverde Giant Sequoia Fountan Pen

Monteverde Giant Sequoia Fountain Pen

This week we’re bringing you another great pen from Monteverde. The Monteverde Giant Sequoia Fountain Pen finds its roots of inspiration in the majestic Giant Sequoia trees. The earthy tones and stripes used resemble the trunks of these great trees.

Continue reading for a chance to win the Monteverde Giant Sequoia Fountain Pen that we used in this review.

Appearance

As stated, the earthy tones and stripes are reminiscent of the trunks and foliage of these living giants. The Giant Sequoia Pen is available in three colors; Green, Brown, and Blue. Also, each color comes with durable polished chrome accents. The Monteverde Giant Sequoia Fountain Pen is a large pen, as the name “Giant” implies. It measures to be around 0.6in in diameter, and about 5.7in long while capped. Also, the pen measures out to be 6.7in long while posted.

Qualities

The body is made from an acrylic resin, which is lightweight and very durable. Also, the chrome trim is scratch resistant, which is definitely a huge plus. The Giant Sequoia Pen is available in four different nib sizes. It comes in; Fine, Medium, Broad, as well as a 1.1mm Stub. In addition, each pen has a Monteverde International Standard Converter included in the pen. You can, of course, also use International Standard Sized cartridges if you prefer.

Performance

For this review we used a Brown Giant Sequoia Fountain Pen with a Medium nib. Also, we used the Krishna Causal Ink that we reviewed on Monday. The nib was smooth on the paper that we used, and laid down a nice reliable line. The pen is definitely on the larger side, so some of you with smaller hands may not enjoy the large grip section. On the other hand, those of you with bigger hands will find the pen to be pleasant to hold and feel.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Monteverde Giant Sequoia Fountain Pen is a great pen, reminiscent of some of the great giants of the world. If you are looking for the next pen for your collection, definitely take a look at this one. Don’t forget to share this with your friends so that they can have a chance to win! Thanks for the review of this pen. I would like to have seen a size comparison with other common pens. In the hopes of winning this Monteverde Giant Sequoia I promise to post a pic with other pens for comparison.

Nice review! The Sequoia looks stunning. I really enjoy large-light pens. The Edison Collier is one of my favorites for this reason.

I like the size and shape of this pen, and I love Monteverde stub nibs. I wish the “green” colorway were better… but the pictured color looks incredible.

Thanks for the opportunity to win a Giant Sequoia fountain pen. You asked what I’d like you to riviera next: as always, inks that are no longer being produced. I think that would be kind of interesting.

Cool pen. It looks like it might be able to convert to an eyedropper type, depending on the barrel/ threading of the grip section.

My favorite ink right now is Edelstein Jade. Not your run of the mill green, and has some nice shading and even a little sheen to it.

Wow, you don’t see a lot of pens in brown like that, but that color would pair well with so many inks.
