This was a gift for someone who loves bronze and copper. They love it. It's a great pen, writes like a breeze and the color is just gorgeous. The woven material that makes up the barrel gives it a different feel and for someone who enjoys different textures, quite pleasing. It always starts and handles standard, shimmer, and sheening inks with equal aplomb.
I got a great deal on this pen and Pen Chalet shipped it quickly and wrapped it with care. Thanks!

Absolutely stunning in person. The gunmetal trim and the dark mother of pearl are perfect together. The giftee is beyond thrilled with it. I was so fortunate to get this on a great sale which made it even sweeter.

This ink looks quite different depending on the paper used. On creamier papers the copper color shines, on whiter papers it seems a tad flatter. But attractive, and flows well with my pens.

I ordered the pen in black. I was really captivated by the blue-tinged nib in the photos as well as videos posted on Pen Chalet's YouTube page. So imagine my dismay when my pen showed up with a gray nib. (Now, don't get me wrong -- it's a fun color, but it's not going to be exciting if you were expecting a beautiful blue nib.) I contacted Customer Service to see what the case is, and I learned that the Black and Blue come with a nib in gunmetal while the Bronze one has a bronze nib.
I wish I had learned this before purchasing it because I don't know that I would have done so.
It's a beautiful pen with beautiful woven detailing, and the entire pen feels substantial and sturdy. It's got nice heft and feels extremely solid, and the cap snaps on and off very snugly. The body is clearly made of metal, and I can see it feeling too heavy for some people even though I personally like it.
I generally don't post pen caps for fear of scuffing them or damaging the apparatus, but I tried it out to see how it would feel. The result was that it seemed inordinately top-heavy, which felt unusual but not to the point of being unpleasant. I think I might even like it since I tend to grip my pens too tightly, and the weight distribution of this pen could help me relax my grip by doing much of the work of resetting my strokes for me. (Basically, I imagine that gravity will pull the posted top of the pen down so that the nib rises a little. This means I don't have to move the pen as much with my death-grip, and I only really need to use my index finger to guide the pen down and side-to-side.)
Unfortunately, I can't speak to the nib's performance since I haven't inked it. (I'm still deciding if I'm keeping this pen or returning it since my heart was really, really, REALLY set on a blue nib.) Still, I will say that I can see this being a pen that makes many people happy -- myself included if I hadn't experienced such immediate sadness. It's really a beautiful pen, but I'm just worried that every time I look at this pen, I'll be forever reminded of what I had wanted and what I had instead received.

Monteverde produces fine inks in a variety of colors. This is a smooth writing and excellent flowing ink.

This converter works perfectly, and is very well made, as compared to other converters I have purchased.

This is a gorgeous large (5-3/4 of an inch long when capped) fountain pen. Came in its box with an included converter. The pen is well made, but I had problems with the Monteverde nib: it would not write! I had to use another #6 nib to be able to use my new pen. Eventually I worked on the Monteverde nib and made it write properly (shame on the company for not having a proper quality control department for their nibs). After fixing the nib, writing with my Monteverde Giant Sequoia is always a pleasant experience & a joy to look at it.

I am very pleased with my Abalone pen. It writes wet, which is fine, because the ink I put in it sheens when enough ink is put onto the paper.

I have the Kuna model with a stub nib. The pen itself is nice, a good weight and writes well. I do not post any of my pens as they end up being top heavy for me and this is the case here. One issue I do have with this pen is that the clip is very fragile and moves very easily to either side. I do not like that part. The colors of the pen aren't a bright, stand out bunch of colors, but are soft colors, but not matte. Overall, I am happy with this pen and outside of the clip, have no issues.
