The Monteverde One Touch Stylus Tool Fountain Pen is like a Swiss army pen. Multiple tools all compacted into a fountain pen. A multi-unit ruler, bubble level, phillips and flat screwdriver, a stylus. Available as a cartridge pen only. The Monteverde One Touch Stylus Tool Fountain Pen is a must have for the DIY fountain pen enthusiast.
This pen accepts a standard universal ink cartridge only. The body of the pen does not allow room for an ink converter. One ink cartridge is included with the fountain pen.
*Monteverde pens purchased in 2020 or later, may be packed in the "new" Monteverde pen box, a thin, black plastic box with grey velvet lined interior. The black box is encased in a green/black cardboard sleeve featuring the Monteverde branding.

First off we have the bubble level on the pen which allows you to see if your surface is level or not. It also comes with a multi-scale ruler on the pen. First off we have a four inch ruler. We also have three different metric scales around the pen. It has a chrome clip here on the pen.
The next tool on the pen is the stylus. It is a touch screen stylus which allows you to use the pen on any kind of a touch screen whether it is an iPad, an iPhone or a phone, e-readers, any kind of tablet or whatever touch screen you have.
You can unscrew the stylus off the top. Underneath the stylus we have a screwdriver. That can also be reversed so you have a philips screwdriver on the other end. You can replace the stylus back on the top.
On the other end of the pen is the fountain pen. It has a cap that unscrews from the pen. This fountain pen is only available as a cartridge fountain pen. You cannot use a converter because there is not room enough because it is quite compact.
To replace the cartridge you simply pull the the top section of the pen away from the barrel and you can insert a cartridge into the fountain pen. To insert back into the pen you align the arrow to the clip on the pen and simply press that back into the barrel of the pen.

This just the best tool pen I have ever used. it is very helpful to have screwdriver bits included. I have used them several times already.

This is the third one. One is the ink ball version that is very nice writing. The first fountain pen is just sitting in a state of disrepair. The nib/section is stuck and cannot be removed. I gave up when a vice and pair of channel locks could not remove the stuck section. I suspect that the ink cartridge work lose and the ink got in between the section and the body acting like glue. I miss that pen.
To that end, I bought a second one and am very happy again. It gets used at work, a lot. The scales are handy, the tool bit is more useful. I deal with a lot of tiny fasteners, and the bit works just right. The tool bit cover works just right for using with a cell phone screen. A wonderful bonus.

The pen is a solid pen and writes well. I like the tools it has with it too. I am concerned about the placement of the clip for the fountain pen as with where the clip is at, it would cause the nib to be facing down while carrying it around which should be pointed up. Carrying it around in a pen case should help resolve that. All around, it is a really nice pen.

I love the concept of this pen. It works great! I was slightly disappointed on how long it took to get to me. I am also unhappy with the fact that it showed up all scratched up. Other than that, it's a great product.

This is cool because it is nice and heavy. I could wallop someone upside the head with it, then take apart an airplane. Okay, probably not. The pen only has screwdriver points, but no wrench, so no dismantling aircraft. But I like all the tools and stuff.

Who would have thought that a novelty pen would write so well? The medium nib writes a finer line than I expected, very smoothly. It is a solid, and slightly heavy pen, not a cheap swag thing. The screwdrivers are good, and functional for small things like eye glasses or something. I'm really glad I purchase them. I purchased several of them after testing one. They were to be gifts to my graduating class. I do recommend them.

I bought this for my machine shop. I have a small book I use for design sketches. After searching for a ball point pen just one time too many I decided to get something that I liked and wouldn't forget. My design book looks so much better. Its fun to write with a fountain pen like this. I've already used the level in place of my iPhone which is aways in a case. Also used the screw driver the second day I had it. The rulers come in handy. My original attraction to the pen is its "workshop" appeal. I didn't realize it would actually get used on a daily basis.
A few days later I bought the mechanical pencil. That gets used daily as well and hasn't yet been misplaced.

Are the brass, silver (I assume this is actually aluminum color?), and copper plated onto a base metal? Or are they metal-colored paints?A:
All of the Monteverde tool pens have a brass barrel so the brass version or color of the pen just has a protective coating to limit the tarnishing of the brass. The Copper color is a copper plating with a protective coating to protect it as well. All of the other colors are just paint colors on the pen.Q:
How do you easily remove the spent ink cartridge from the Monteverde one Touch fountain pen?A:
You have to remove the nib and section from the front of the pen. Pull the entire silver section straight out from the pen body of the pen. You can then pull the spent ink cartridge from the section, insert a new one and replace the nib and feed.Q:

The only converter that will fit the Monteverde tool fountain pen is the Monteverde Mini converter but you cannot pull a full draw of ink into it. The body of the pen is too short with the bubble level for the converters to fit.Q:

It is not possible to swap the mechanism/tip of the Monteverde ballpoint tool pen with the fountain pen. It is only possible to swap between the Monteverde inkball tool pen and the fountain pen.Q:
I received a One touch stylus (9 function) stainless steel fountain pen as a present but the ink cartridges (standard type?) will not pass in through the pens stylus apature. Did I get sent the wrong size? I work and live in Africa (Togo). Is there a method to install the cartridge that I am too obtuse to have discovered?A:
The Monteverde One Touch Stylus fountain pen accepts a standard international ink cartridge. To insert the ink cartridge you have to pull the nib and feed section out of the front of the pen. It is held in the pen with a simple pressure fit. You may also check that there isn't another cartridge inside the pen blocking the insertion of the new ink cartridge.
