The Summer Edition Field Notes Byline Edition

The Field Notes summer edition has just been announced, the Field Notes Byline reporters notebook. The reporters notebook is an iconic American object and Field Notes has been asked for years to create one. With several previous attempts Field Notes just felt they didn’t get it right but have this time. This 31st limited release for the summer of 2016 is a great way to take notes at work or in class or when you are on the go.

Field Notes Byline Reporters Notebook

This limited edition run by Field Notes refines and improves existing reporter’s notebooks in every facet of the design. First they have trimmed the width slightly making the notebook easier to hold and write with one hand. Field Notes next lightened the printing on the Collegiate ruled lines. Then the cover wraps around the top of the pad and has been designed to protect the wire binding at the top. The diameter of the binding has been reduced to a custom size as well as the die cut holes to make the pad more “flip-able.” On the back cover a small pocket has been added making it more stable for writing as well as creating a place to store receipts or other items. The cover has also been printed with useful items such as proof reading marks.

The Field Notes Byline comes in a two pack and each wire bound notebook lays flat making them ideal for desk writing. The stiff outer cover is made from 120#DTC Neenah Environment in Wrought Iron and then printed with a soy-based Saphira ink in Federal Blue. Printed on the cover of the notebook is a “Power of the Pen” logo. The interior has 70 pages of college ruled Cougar Natural 70#T vellum ruled paper. The reporters notebook measures 4–3/4″× 7–1/2″ (121mm x 191mm) and has slightly rounded corners on the bottom. Like all of Field Notes products, the Field Notes Byline is printed and manufactured in the U.S.A.
