Qualities

Stifflexible Notebooks come in several different colors and styles. They are also available in the A5 and A6 sizes. As the name implies, Stifflexible makes notebooks that are stiff, yet flexible. Due to the ingenious design, these notebooks are made of a sturdy material that allows the edges to flex and give. It also allows the notebook to lay completely flat when open. That’s perfect for constant page turning and flipping. Also, each notebook made by Stifflexible is a web notebook. This means that they have an elastic band that keeps the notebook closed when not in use. In addition, they come with a small pocket for storage on the back, with a flap that doubles as a nifty bookmark.

The Stifflexible Notebooks are available in an array of cover designs and come in both the larger A5 medium size notebook as well as the Stifflexible Small A6 Notebook.

Performance

As all fountain pen users learn, the paper you use is just as important as the pen and ink. For this review, we used six different nib sizes from Extra Fine to a 1.5mm Stub. We also, used six different brands of ink. Unfortunately, we found that the paper used in the Stifflexible notebook is not the most fountain pen friendly. We experienced show-through on all nib sizes except the Extra Fine. However, we only experienced bleed-through after we started using a wet medium nib. Although the Stifflexible Notebook may not be the most fountain pen friendly, we’d say it’s other qualities still make it a great addition to your collection. It is also great for use with your other pens and pencils.

Conclusion about the Stifflexible Notebook

In conclusion, Stifflexible Notebooks have an innovative design, many positive perks, but are not the most fountain pen friendly. With all of the great qualities of these notebooks, we’d recommend them for your collection. They would make great journals to jot down all of your ideas. Thanks for the giveaway. I would like you to review some of the Robert Oster shimmering inks. How best to use them and how to clean the pens out in a special way if necessary. Any information like that would be nice.

Hmmmm… I haven’t heard of this brand before, but I have heard of the “stifflexible” idea…
anyways, since it isn’t really FPF, maybe gel pens?
