Pelikan Pen Company has just announced the release of a new limited edition Souveran Raden Fountain Pen to its 2017 collection, news and pictures of the M800 Royal Gold Raden Fountain Pen. This will be the first Pelikan Raden fountain pen collection to be produced on the M800/805 platform in about 12 years, as most are on the M1000 chassis.

As with last years Pelikan Raden Sunrise, the Pelikan Raden Sunlight, the Pelikan Raden Starlight, some of which sold out before they ever made it to the USA, will be extremely limited. The new M800 Royal Gold Raden will be limited to just 333 pieces worldwide, making this years piece extremely limited once again.

Pelikan M800 Raden Royal Gold Fountain Pen

The Pelikan M800 Royal Gold Raden fountain pen is extraordinary to behold. Pelikan Pen Company has used this time honored Japanese art form of using tiny pieces of abalone shells in lacquered art within its fine writing instrument to perfection once again. The gold trim on the Raden Royal Gold, with the black barrel grip section and end piece, seem to make the abalone shells come alive and shimmer.

Each Pelikan M800 Raden Royal Gold fountain is truly a work of art. Hours of work is put into each pen laying the inlays of shell, ivory and other fine materials and then adding multiple coats of black Urishi lacquer. The gold stripes on the cap and barrel are created using 14k gold foil backing and enhanced with mother of pearl. Each pen is then signed by the artist and individually numbered.

The Pelikan M800 Royal Gold Raden will be made available in June of 2017 and will only be available in a medium 18K gold Pelikan nib with Pelikan’s patented internal piston filling system. The fountain pen will retail for $3,000.
