The new J Herbin Anniversary Ink has just been announced, J Herbin 1670 Caroube de Chypre, for release July 2016. J Herbin created the 1670 anniversary ink to celebrate the rich life and adventures of the French sailor, ink creator and founder, J. Herbin. He made numerous voyages to India collecting ingredients and creating formulas for his inks and sealing waxes.

This new J Herbin 1670 Caroube de Chypre Anniversary Ink is a dark brown ink with light red reflections and sparkling gold flecks. J. Herbin liked dried carob pods during his voyages that he purchased and traded in Cyprus. Carob trees have been cultivated in many Mediterranean countries and were known as the “black gold of Cyprus” for their therapeutic properties. These pods inspired the color of the new Caroube de Chypre ink.

The 1670 Anniversary Ink collection commemorates the 340th anniversary of the founding the J Herbin company. Each ink comes with a special square shaped glass bottle with a special label designed to look like sealing wax with the 1670 logo. The crown on the bottle is representative of the sealing wax used by the royal court. The box design represents the life of J. Herbin with nautical designs such as a ship, anchor and rope.

Past J Herbin 1670 Anniversary Ink colors include a dark red ink, Rouge Hermatite, a vibrant blue ink, Bleu Ocean, a dark grey color ink, Stormy Grey, and an elegant green ink, Emeraude de Chivor.
