Autumn Forest ink: Great fall ink that works well all year round.

Autumn Forest is a mossy green that shimmers red. Whether you’re using it to celebrate fall or adding some holiday flair to your writing, Autumn Forest fits the bill—well-behaved and interesting, which is quite a desirable combo, as I’m sure you know. It’s an ink that surprises you (in the best way possible), making your everyday writing look subtly stunning.

The Dominant Industry Autumn Forest Ink Review Test Results:

We put Autumn Forest through our usual gauntlet of tests—yes, we might have overworked it a bit, but it’s all in the name of inky science. Our trusty J. Herbin Glass Dip Pen (writes similar to a medium nib) teamed up with Rhodia Lined Paper to give us all the nitty-gritty details.

Glass dip pens were used during today’s ink review.
  • J. Herbin Glass Dip Pen (medium nib equivalent)
  • Rhodia Lined Paper (because we like our paper to treat our inks as kindly as possible)

Dominant Industry Ink Bottle & Packaging

Dominant Industry Standard inks

Ah, packaging—Dominant Industry doesn’t do anything halfway. The Autumn Forest ink comes in a lovely 25ml glass bottle shaped like a droplet (because why have a boring bottle when you can have this?). It’s neatly tucked in a drawstring duster bag and a box, complete with a dropper for easy use. There’s even a sticker to prove the cap hasn’t been tampered with—because nothing says “I’m fancy” quite like a tamper-proof seal.

Dry Time: Autumn Forest Ink Review

Dominant Industry Autumn Forest ink review: dry time.

Dry time for Autumn Forest clocks in around 15 seconds. So, if you’re the type who likes to swipe your hand across your work right after writing… maybe don’t. Patience is a virtue, my friends.

Bleed: Did the Ink Bleed Through the Paper?

Good news here—there was no bleed through on our Rhodia Paper. This ink knows how to keep its cool, at least in terms of bleed resistance.

Was There Any Feathering?

Another win: no feathering was spotted during the test. This ink keeps its lines clean and crisp, which is a plus when you want your writing to look like it belongs in an autumn fairytale and not on a shaky pirate map.

Autumn Forest Ink Review Water Test Results:

Does it play well with water? Eh… not so much. After running a wet cotton swab over the ink, there was significant running and line distortion. Lines turned lighter, ink smeared, and some lines even disappeared completely. It did not bleed through the paper, but let’s just say this ink isn’t winning any awards for water resistance.

Autumn Forest Ink 1-Dip Test:

The 1-Dip Test (one dip of the glass pen to see how long it writes) performed well. We managed to get all three lines down with plenty of ink left over. Efficiency, thy name is Autumn Forest (at least when it comes to ink usage).

Special Properties: Any Signs of Shading, Sheen, or Shimmer?

Dominant Industry Autumn Forest ink review: cotton swab swatches.

Autumn Forest offers medium shading, creating lovely gradients as you write, and has no sheen but plenty of red shimmer. The shimmer is most visible when using a cotton swab, but during regular writing with a glass dip pen, it’s more of a subtle accent. If you love an ink that masquerades as a great everyday ink but fulfills your secret wish for hidden wonders, this shimmering olive green with a red twist is just the ticket.

Wrapping Up the Autumn Forest Ink Review:

Dominant Industry Autumn Forest Ink Review
Dominant Industry’s Autumn Forest tends to make it on the Top 10 Fall inks list, but it’s a great choice for winter, too.

In summary, Dominant Industry Autumn Forest is a beautiful green with a touch of red sheen that gives it a unique edge—just don’t expect it to love water or dry quickly. It’s an ink that performs well on quality paper, looks stunning, and writes dark and visible. If you’re looking to add a mysterious, moody ink to your collection, this might just be the one. Grab your favorite notebook, put on some cozy socks, and get ready to embrace the Autumn Forest vibes.

Autumn Forest was the first bottle of Dominant Industry ink I purchased, and I love it. I agree the shimmer is very subtle when used in a fountain pen, but it’s still lovely.
