This is fantastic paper for ink samples. Very smooth no feathers or bleed through, shows incredible shimmers and true colors. The only con is drying time so I won't be using this for journaling.

They call it an Ink Archiving Book but let's call it what it is, a Fountain Pen coloring book! And it's very well executed. The art work is glorious and it has enough pages to keep you occupied for hours and hours. Let's hope this is just the first of many!

This ink reminds me of bodies of water, like the Carribean, Hawaii or the Mediterranean. It makes you want to dip your toes into it! Its like a light teal on some papers, and in different pens with other nibs like a stub, the color is very lively and vibrant. I really love the shape of the bottle which is very unique.

I’ve used many different pens and inks in this notebook so far. It is a good fit with fine or medium nib fountain pens but the more “luscious” shading ink colors do not really stand out, they fade slightly as it dries- especially noticeable with broad/music nibs. Micron, Copic, and Winsor & Newton Fineliners look crisp and do not ghost (up to .5mm). Great for pencils, too. I got the blank journal. The feel of cover plus the thick inside flaps are nice. I’ve had good results penciling in and then going over lettering with various markers. Definitely “spread-worthy,” if one is not a fan of bright links ala Sailor Ink Studio 473.

The Manschurian Violet is a beautiful shade of violet (not too blue or red) with good flow and some nice shading. Pretty bottles at a good price-especially so on sale. Since I'm a fan of sheer and pastel inks, I'm glad to see new lines that have those attributes.
