Robert Oster Aussie Brown ink is a nice earth brown color, which shades from a dark brown to a soft caramel brown. The ink can be used as an everyday ink color as it shows up dark on white paper and is fountain pen friendly.

Testing Factors
For our review, we used a French-made J Herbin glass dip pen on Rhodia dot pad paper. The dip pen has a type that is similar to a medium-fine fountain pen nib. Different paper and nib size may produce different results.
Bottle Size
Robert Oster Signature inks come in a standard plastic 50 ml. bottle. Each bottle is identical with a simple white label printed with the color of ink and small ink swatch on top of the lid. The bottles are environmentally friendly but very functional and no issues with leaking.
Cost
Robert Oster Aussie Brown ink retails for $17.00 in the USA. Other specialty inks from Robert Oster such as their Shake ‘N’ Shimmy ink retails for a bit more. Overall, Robert Oster inks are a mid-ranged priced ink and are imported from Australia.
Dry Time
We found a reasonable dry time of 6-7 seconds during our review of Robert Oster Aussie Brown ink, which makes this ink an everyday ink option. With a very reasonable dry time, Aussie Brown ink can be used in most daily situations.
Bleed Through
We found no bleeding during our review of Robert Oster Aussie Brown ink even during the cotton swab test of our review.
Feathering
During normal use, we found no feathering at all while testing Robert Oster Aussie Brown ink. However, there was some feathering during our water test, which is to be expected with non-waterproof ink.
Water Test
During our review, we ran a wet cotton swab over a dried Robert Oster Aussie Brown ink sample. The results of our test were significant color smear, which is typical for dark non-waterproof ink and some feathering. Robert Oster Aussie Brown ink is not waterproof ink.
Shading
Aussie Brown is a nice dark brown ink but can shade beautifully with a wide variety of ink strokes and writing styles. The ink can produce a light soft brown to medium brown shades as well.
Conclusions about Robert Oster Aussie Brown Ink
Robert Oster Aussie Brown ink is a nice dark brown color. It has a reasonably quick dry time making it functional as an everyday ink color. Although each bottle is imported directly from Australia the price is still within a moderately reasonable price range.
