Colorverse Martian ink is the 71st color produced by Colorverse Ink Company in its ever-expanding ink universe. They have just released their 5th Series or “season” of ink colors, all based upon the Red Planet, Mars. There are 5 unique color combinations in this 5th Season Series, each containing Mars-themed ink in both a larger 65 ml. bottle and a 15 ml. bottle. The complementary color associated with Colorverse Martian ink is a blue-grey ink, Life on Mars. Colorverse Martian ink is a vibrant red-orange color, associated with the Mars landscape. Martian ink will produce deep dark red-orange color with lighter lines in a dusty orange.

Colorverse Martian Ink Review
During our review of Colorverse Martian ink we found the following characteristics that you may find helpful when choosing your next ink color:
Testing Factors
We used a glass dip pen on Rhodia dot pad paper for our review of Colorverse Martian ink. The glass dip pen has a tip that is equivalent to a fine-medium fountain pen nib.
Bottle Sizes
Martian ink comes in the unique and interesting Colorverse 65 ml. ink bottle. The large capacity ink bottle has a protruding nub on the bottom, almost like a comet. Each box of ink in the 5th Season Red Planet Series will include two bottles of ink, both a 65 ml. bottle and a 15 ml. bottle of complimenting ink. The ink is well packaged with built-in protective qualities and even some Colorverse ink “swag” that you may find interesting and fun.
Cost
Colorverse Martian ink retails in the USA for $36.00 but we currently have it on sale. This makes Colorverse Red Planet inks, including the Martian and Life on Mars colors a reasonable mid-ranged price ink due to the amount of ink you receive, the bottle and packaging. Each bottle of Colorverse ink is imported directly from Korea and remember you get two bottles of ink!
Dry Time
During our review of Colorverse Martian ink, we found a little longer dry time of approximately 11-12 seconds. Please note that different paper, nibs and writing style will produce different results.
Bleed Through
Colorverse Martian ink is a medium saturation ink, but we found no bleeding during our review, using Rhodia paper, even during the cotton swab test.
Feathering
We found no feathering during our review of Colorverse Martian ink during normal use. During the water test, we conducted we did find some slight additional feathering.
Water Test
During our review of Colorverse Martian ink, we conducted a water test where we ran a wet cotton swab over an ink sample that had dried for about 3 minutes. The results were significant color smearing and some slight feathering, although the lines remained very legible.
Shading
Colorverse Martian ink excels at shading, from a deep red-orange color with wetter lines to a lighter dusty orange with a hint of red on the dryer lines and nibs.
Conclusions about Colorverse Martian ink
Colorverse Martian ink is a dark red-orange medium saturation ink that shows up dark and legible on paper. It will shade wonderfully well with the right fountain pen nib and penmanship style. The price is reasonable in the mid-high range. The complementary color that comes with Colorverse Martian ink is a nice muted dusty blue-grey color. Although the planet Mars, our neighbor in space, is constantly in the news, movies and our imagination, it can now be in our written documents through Colorverse’s Red Planet Series of inks.
