FAQs about Colorverse Inks
What are Colorverse inks?
Colorverse is a fountain pen ink brand known for vibrant, expressive colors and space-inspired collections designed for smooth writing.
Where are Colorverse inks made?
Colorverse inks are from Korea.
Are Colorverse inks safe for fountain pens?
They’re formulated for fountain pens and are intended to flow well. As with any bottled ink, regular cleaning (especially when switching colors) helps keep pens performing their best.
Do Colorverse inks have shimmer or sheen?
Some Colorverse inks are classic (non-shimmer) colors, while select options offer subtle sheen and “Glistening” shimmer effects.
What bottle sizes are available for Colorverse inks?
Availability varies by color, but you may see minis (5ml), smaller bottles (15ml), larger bottles (65ml), select sets (65ml + 15ml), and sample sizes (4ml).
Which nib sizes show Colorverse ink effects best?
Broad and stub nibs typically show off shading, sheen, and shimmer more clearly. Fine and extra-fine nibs are great for everyday notes and cleaner lines.
What paper works best with Colorverse inks?
Smoother, fountain-pen-friendly paper generally helps colors look richer and can reveal more shading, sheen, or shimmer than highly absorbent paper.
How do I fill a fountain pen from small Colorverse bottles?
For very small bottles, many users prefer a blunt-tip syringe or decanting into a sample vial to make filling easier and cleaner.
Do shimmer inks clog pens?
Shimmer inks can be more demanding than standard inks. Using a pen that’s easy to clean, gently agitating the bottle before filling, and cleaning more regularly can help.
Can I mix Colorverse inks together?
Many enthusiasts mix inks in small test amounts. If you experiment, mix in a separate container (not inside your pen) and test first to confirm performance and color.
What if I want a Colorverse item that isn’t listed?
If you don’t see what you want, contact customer service—Pen Chalet is often able to source Colorverse items not currently listed on the site.
Is Pen Chalet an authorized Colorverse retailer?

A red-brown that’s pretty on paper. I recommend using a syringe to get the ink out as the bottle is very tiny.

Gorgeous muted/gray-toned green. It matches my Twsbi Eco in Serpentine. I will say to make sure you have a syringe handy as this bottle is tiny. Takes me a bit to fill up but it’s worth the hassle (until I get a syringe that is.)

I got Hahoe Mask, lovely color. It's got like a tan/light caramel color. I put it in an EF Kakuno and it's the only Kakuno that hasn't dried up/given me a hard start, so not sure if it's the ink (wet, smooth) or if it's b/c I'm using the Pilot CON-40 (my other Kakuno are using re-filled cartridges with different brands of ink, Diamine & Pilot Iroshizuku)

This ink is simply gorgeous. I have been looking for the "perfect" blue ink and this may be it. The ink quality is excellent. Not much in the way of shading that I have noticed, but I have it in a pen with a fine nib, so my line isn't very wet. It might write differently in with a different nib. It seems to dry pretty quickly, but I haven't done any smear tests or anything like that. I just loaded it into a pen, loved the color and starting writing with it.

Cape May is a clear blue sky color, like looking out at the sky and water from the lighthouse. A favorite blue, just wish it came in a bigger bottle!

This review is for the Sorae Fog: it is a beautiful color, but is a pale pink. It reminds me of a Cherry Blossom in bloom. It writes well with my dip pen when I tested it. However, I may try to blend it with another Colorverse Ink to create a darker color. I swatched with my Pilot Iroutsushi dip pen w/a fine nib. No cons other than the color - but this is my own personal preference and has nothing to do with how it performs.

These inks (a Cap, a Scorpii, a Orionis) all are gorgeous colores with interesting, subtle sheens. And so far, they flow well without clogging the nib of the Pilot Metro Stubs. Great fun!

Colorverse's Constellation II features most of the zodiac constellations so I went for Regulus, aka "alpha Leo", a soft yellow ink with just the slightest hint of olive, maybe. That's the way it appears to my eyes. Think of sunlight, filtered through an eggshell-colored shade. Subtle is the best word for this ink. It's hard to see at first although as it dries and gets a little age, it begins to show up better, with that smidge of olive lending it enough color to show up. It reminds me of FWP's Sparkling Champagne. It will work best in a stub or broad point to get more of the ink on the page.
Colorverse's packaging is second to none, featuring constellations, a rover or two, planets, and other fun astronomical designs - and of course, their comet bottles.
I can't say enough good things about Pen Chalet. I got this ink (along with several other goodies) on a great sale, so I was a happy camper there! My package came swiftly and everything was packed with great care, inks beautifully wrapped and cornstarch peanuts protecting the whole lot. They even gave me a lovely ink sample to try.

Nice color verse set… the small bottle neck makes it difficult to fill from so I use a syringe. The larger bottle “Martian” is an excellent shading orange and red.

Love this shade of pink ink as it's not too pale but really shows up well on envelopes & stationary. Thank you!

So love this combination. Map of Mars and Mars Attacks are gorgeous and well-behaved. They are perfectly paired in a couple of Kawecos. My co-workers are jealous ;-) And the service from Pen Chalet was superb. Quick to ship and beautifully packed. Thanks.

Amazing ink, easily my favorite. The blue/green shimmer really ties it together, and the mustard yellow is warm enough to stand out from my other yellow inks. A little similar to Gluon but I prefer this one, its a shame I couldn't snag some more! Fed perfectly with my F.P.R. EF Ultra Flex and ebonite feed, a little on the wet side.
