Customer Reviews

Glass
I was a little nervous when I read a negative review about this glass dip pen, but I ordered it anyway, and I'm glad I did because the one I received writes just fine! Caveat: the only other glass dip pen I've used is the short type made by J. Herbin. The Colorverse one writes just as good - if not better - than that, and is far more visually appealing as well as pleasant to hold/use.
Out of the box, it offered a little bit of variation from semi-scratchy fine line to a smoother, broader stroke, depending on how you rotate it. I used some fine grit paper/micromesh to further adjust it to my own preference.
I'm very satisfied with the overall quality, esp. for the price.

The Red Planet(65ml + 15ml)
I love Colorverse inks. Yes, they're expensive, but they seem to come up with new twists on favorite colors that I really like and produce inks that are a joy to write with. I have at least six of their inks, and I still get a kick out of the packaging, especially the "mama and baby" concept of two bottles per package, along with the freebies of pen stand, bookmark, stickers and napkin. Since I already have more inks than I know what to do with, I bought the Martian/Life on Mars from this line more for the Life on Mars worms as I did anything else. When I got the inks, though, I fell in love with the colors themselves, same as always. The Life on Mars is especially eye-catching with it's muted teal-blue with a hint of gray to it. The Martian is a super-fun burnt-orange on the lighter side of the spectrum. It looks a LOT like a well-loved UT-Austin Longhorn T-shirt that an alum is still wearing a couple of years after graduation.

Multiverse(65ml + 15ml)
I was first drawn to Colorverse because of their large variety of colors and space/science themed seasons. After trying several of the Multiverse (season 3), Colorverse quickly became my favorite ink company! One thing I partially like in Season 3 (as opposed to season 1 and 2) is that you get two different colors in each box. Colorverse also does a great job of including a pen stand and book mark, among other goodies, in each box. Colorverse makes high quality ink that writes exceptionally well, provides vivid color, and charismatic marketing that creates an wonderful overall experience.

Trailblazer in Space(65ml + 15ml)
If I could afford it, I would collect all of these Colorverse inks, because the colors are so unique and fun. Alas, I am a poor and thus must be more judicious in my purchases, waiting patiently for sales. The Ham mama and the glistening baby are rich, vibrant shades of blue with a hint of teal or turquoise to it. In a finer nib pen, it could show up as a turquoise. With some nibs, it could prove an interesting shader from turquoise to a deeper blue, and both have some reddish sheen to them. The baby Ham of course has a sparkly pink-red shimmer thing going on, and that's quite fun. As always, both inks are well-behaved and flow well. I don't think Colorverse has made a bad ink yet, or not in my experience, and I own six of them at this point. They're worth every penny I've paid for the ones I have.

Wisdom of Trees(65ml + 15ml)
Coast Redwood is neither a big sheener nor shader, but it's nevertheless a beautiful reddish-brown that looks tasteful and dignified on the page. It's all but made for cream, ivory or off-white paper. The color has a soothing, calming effect on the eyes that makes it easy to read for long periods of time. I've had no problem with feathering or bleedthrough with most quality papers. Haven't tried it on cheap American paper yet, and don't really want to. This ink is far too classy for that kind of paper! Yes, it's expensive, but this is a case where it's worth the extra price. The little bottle of Redwood Forest isn't exactly high on my list of favorite shades of green, but it's not unbearable. I know plenty of people who will love it to death, my mother especially. Both of these inks will be perfect for autumn letters and artwork.

This is the perfect purple ink and the glistening version is great, too. Colorverse is always great quality and very smooth writing ink. I have a LOT of them and I can only think of a couple colors that I was disappointed by. This is a great one.

Voyager I
I had been eyeballing this little collection since it came out earlier in 2018 and I'm so glad I finally pulled the trigger. The inks are absolutely beautiful and really unique in my collection. I really love the little bottles and will probably be displaying them long after I've used up all the ink inside. I was surprised to find that the ones I thought would be my least favorite (Interstellar Space and Jupiter Flyby) have won me over! If you're thinking about snagging it - I'd say go for it. It's definitely the most expensive ink I own at the moment, but Colorverse is good quality and the packaging is an experience in and of itself.

Astrophysics(65ml + 15ml)
Supernova is a beautiful vibrant blue, and I love it. Along with Colorverse's Gravity Well, these are my two favorite blue-toned inks! I'd like to send out a shout-out to Pen Chalet for their awesome customer service - my first shipment arrived broken with ink spilled everywhere. It was very well packed, and there was no damage to the outside box (I think the two bottles must have hit each other during transit). Replacement was sent within days. Thanks, Pen Chalet - you have a customer for life.

Voyager I
Colorverse Voyager I is simply out-of-this-world! [Sorry.]

The colors in this set aren't necessarily ones that I gravitate towards in general, but I was initially taken in by this set because of the space theme. Then I tried a few other Colorverse inks as samples, and found that I really liked them - even (maybe especially) the shades I wasn't expecting to like. That's when I decided to jump at this Limited Edition set - and I'm super-glad that I did.

Currently, I have all of these inks semi-permanently loaded in their color-corresponding Pilot Parallel pens. One of the coolest things about these inks is how they all combine into this really neat, unique aesthetic. When used together, it brings to mind Sci-Fi pulp/Silver Age comic book covers. In addition, they are very well-behaved, and have interesting, subtle variations on different paper types. I was even able to get some sheen out of a couple of them (Pale Blue Dot & Jupiter Flyby) - but it took a bit of pooling on Tomoe paper.

Considering the price-per-ml, these might be the most expensive inks I own. And the bottles are pretty small - just over a month after receiving them, I'm getting a little worried about running out. On the whole, however, it was definitely worth it (at least, for me). If you're intrigued about the space theme, the colors, and the brand/branding, I think you'll be happy with the Limited Edition set as well.

Voyager I
I simply love the range of colors in the ColorVerse spectrum. And this 4-piece set allows me to sample colors that I normally would gravitate to. I used the color cards that came with the set and noticed some lovely shading but no sheen.
And service and support from Pen Chalet is outstanding!

Multiverse(65ml + 15ml)
This review is for the Season 3 Multiverse "Matter / Anti-Matter" set. The inks are fast becoming my new favorites in this color area. I purchased this set because I was looking for a neutral-color ink, and this seemed to cover that need nicely. Matter leans slightly browner/warmer-toned, while Anti-matter leans slightly greyer/cooler-toned. While I think the two sizes of bottles are cool and make this brand stand out, I wish the quantities of each ink were more evenly distributed, because I like both colors.

Astrophysics(65ml + 15ml)
Great ink! Sadly, the box of two ink bottles arrived stained. I opened the seal on the box, and one of the bottles had leaked! It appears the lid loosened, and I lost a mL or two of ink into the box. I was told that since the box was sealed, they couldn't do anything about it. Sad, though, it ruined the box and some of the insert items. Not the end of the world, but disappointing!

I can't wait for this color to be readily available, it seriously is a gorgeous color. It has a lot of shading and what makes it really unique is that the shimmer matches the color of the ink, unlike most shimmer inks where the glitter is limited to metallic colors like gold and silver. I have had it in my twsbi mini for a week and had no problems with it clogging unless I forget to cap it when I stop for a period, in which case it just hard starts for a moment and writes smoothly once again.

Great ink! Fast shipping. I'm not sure how to fix this, but the inside of the box isn't so strong, maybe stamp "Fragile" on the box, due to the design of the packaging. (Inks were fine, but mail carrier may have been a little rough, and the bottles were out of their inside cutouts that are meant to hold the bottles in place were damaged.)
