Colorverse Mini (5ml) Fountain Pen Ink

Bought this tiny little 5ml bottle to top up my order and get free shipping... but also, when you buy a purple and gold glittery pen (Benu Briolette "Jolanda"), don't you need a purple and gold glittery ink to go in it? Yes, yes you do! I was surprised at how tiny and cute the bottle was, it even came with a cute and tiny pipette. This was my first shimmer ink experience and all I can say is "resistance is futile". It’s just so fun! The shimmer particles are very small and as a result, I am getting good shimmering throughout my writing, even with a wet Fine nib, and even on cheap paper. The shimmer settles fast, so I move the barrel around gently before writing again if I’ve paused. The ink itself is quite nice, and is a pretty purple. I’ve noticed that even with the Benu Fine nib it tends to feather a little on cheap paper. I can definitely see myself buying a bigger bottle of this.

A nice deep blue, with a slight dark green undertone(?). Not a navy in any way. I had no issues using it in my TWSBI ECO F on any of my Yamamoto papers with feathering, bleeding or skipping. The ONLY issue I had was the neck of the bottle is too small to fit the pen neck inside so it does come with a pipette to get the ink out to transfer it to another container which is an additional step I could skip. I did not deduct any stars though as this is just my personal issue with not being able to just dip my pen inside and draw the ink out directly from the bottle.

Colorverse offers a very large varied range of interesting, good inks to chose from and the 5ml bottles are a good way to sample them. The bottles, however, are very small and difficult to access. An eyedropper is provided but you may have to use your imagination (a converter on its own, for instance, or a larger bottle to transfer the ink there), to be able to use the ink with certain pens. Best to view this as a sampler.

This review is for the Supernova ink. I am in LOVE, LOVE, LOVE with this ink! Why? The color is outstanding! It is so hard to describe, but the closest I can say is that if you have seen Dove Chocolate in the blue wrapper, it is almost the identical color! It does not skip in my TWSBI ECO M and there is no bleeding. The ONLY downside is that the neck of the bottle is so small you have to use the dropper that comes with it or a needle and syringe to transfer the ink to an inkwell to fill your pen. Since it is just a minor thing I did not ding the ratings for it. This was my 1st Colorverse I used and I can guarantee it will not be the last!

Love these little bottles! they are a great size for colors you don't use often.

Colorverse comes in such a vast array of colors, it’s fun to browse through them. I like the mini bottles, which are reasonably priced and can be used to test a color before I commit to a larger bottle.

Love the minis! More cost per volume, but a great way to sample many inks and have your ink collection look nice on your desk! Great colors and smooth inks.

Only complaint is that they take FOREVER to dry on Tomoe River paper. Be prepared to use blotting paper, amd be prepared that it may still smear when seemingly dry. This is not an issue woth other paper.

Green inks are hard to appreciate unless they are subjectively pleasing, which Schrödinger is for me.

We've been on the hunt for our perfect blue for the longest time and this definitely is the closest we've found so far. The colour is nice and vibrant, it flows well in every pen we've tried it in and the bottle is way too cute!

A cute bottle and fine blue! I am 100% happy with my choice. When i use up the ink I will reuse the stable, nice sized bootle, perfect for a crowded desk!
