J. Herbin has just introduced a new color to its 1670 Anniversary Fountain Pen Ink Collection, J Herbin 1670 Emerald of Chivor.
J. Herbin, was a French Sailor during the 17th century, made voyages to many parts of the world, collecting various ingredients and ideas for his fledging ink and sealing wax company. The ideas, history and innovation started by J. Herbin himself, continues today with the inks and products being produced by the J. Herbin ink company today.
To celebrate the 340th anniversary of the J. Herbin company, the 1670 Anniversary ink collection was introduced. The first 1670 Anniversary Edition ink introduced was the Rouge Hematite, which was a deep dark red reminiscent of the color of the traditional wax used by the royal court to seal letters. Bleu Ocean and Stormy Grey were next introduced. Both have historical characteristics of faraway lands, sailing on the high seas the most intriguing of which are the golden specks interlaced within the ink to magnify lightning bolts on the open “Stormy Grey” seas.
J. Herbin’s new 1670 Anniversary Ink Collection color, Emerald of Chivor also will not disappoint. Historically, it is rumored that J. Herbin kept a good luck talisman in his pocket during all sea voyages, an emerald. The most historically famous emerald mines discovered during J. Herbin’s time in the 16th century by Spanish Conquistadors was the Chivor Mines of Columbia in the New World. Chivor Emeralds were desired and sought after by the worlds royalty and empire heads.
J. Herbin, has created it’s a new 1670 Anniversary Collection ink, Emerald of Chivor, based upon this fascinating history about Chivor Emeralds. The J Herbin 1670 Emerald of Chivor ink is a stunning green color with hints of blue, which also contains golden fleks through the ink, which will show up in your pen strokes. As with the other 1670 Anniversary Collection ink, the J Herbin 1670 Emerald of Chivor is a 50 ml bottle, which is hand dipped and sealed with a 1670 seal and retails for $26.00.
J Herbin 1670 Emerald of Chivor will be released in August, 2015 and Pen Chalet has procured an unspecified number of bottles from the initial shipment.
