Paradiso ink belongs to Wearingeul’s Dante’s Divine Comedy Collection, a themed trio representing Dante’s travels through Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. Each ink draws its character from the atmosphere of its namesake realm. Paradiso reflects the poet’s final ascent into light, and the ink’s shimmer-heavy, pale blue hue captures the weightlessness and purity described in the poem’s closing cantos.

This Week’s Featured Ink: Paradiso

Read today’s ink review to find out more about this stunning shimmer ink from Wearingeul, inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy.

Wearingeul Paradiso ink is a light blue fountain pen ink packed with silver shimmer. Don’t let its pastel tone fool you—this ink writes darker than expected, especially when used with broader nibs. In both swab and written tests, the shimmer came through beautifully, giving the impression of sunlight sparkling on a celestial lake. It’s a wet writer, and the silver sparkle is visible even in finer lines.

Below you’ll find our test sheet created with the J. Herbin glass dip pen and Rhodia lined paper. Paradiso showed off its shimmer well, maintained clarity, and delivered a satisfying performance across all categories.

Wearingeul Ink Bottle and Packaging

Wearingeul Paradiso Ink Review: about the bottle and packaging
Wearingeul inks are packaged in 30ml square glass ink bottles.

Wearingeul Paradiso ink arrives in a clean, white square cardboard box with the label’s color reflecting the ink color inside. The 30ml square bottle is minimalistic but sturdy, and we noted zero leakage. As always with Wearingeul, the packaging feels thoughtful and literary, aligning with the theme of the ink series.

Using our J. Herbin glass dip pen, Paradiso lasted through two full lines before running dry on the third. As expected from a wet ink, it uses more volume per stroke, especially in broader nibs.

Dry Time: How Fast Did the Ink Dry?

Paradiso ink dried in about 10 seconds during our test, which is a very reasonable time for a shimmer ink. The dry time allows for great shimmer distribution without much smearing.

Paradiso Ink and the Standard Water Test

Wearingeul Paradiso fountain pen ink held up surprisingly well under water. There was minor distortion at the top of the water test section, but the ink lines remained legible. The shimmer stayed adhered to the page even after the test—bonus points!

Does Wearingeul Paradiso Ink Have Special Properties?

  • Shading: Minor
  • Sheen: None observed.
  • Shimmer: Lots of silver shimmer! Highly visible and consistent across both cotton swab and glass dip pen tests.

Did the Ink Show Any Feathering or Bleeding?

We saw no feathering or bleedthrough on Rhodia paper until we used a very heavy hand to apply an ink swatch with a cotton swab and J. Herbin glass dip pen showing the Wearingeul Pardiso ink’s base ink color (without the shimmer). Above you can see the bit we’re talking about, and you can also check out the ink swatched “without” the shimmer. The shimmer particles are actually fine enough, so they don’t settle as quickly or thoroughly as many other shimmer inks, and you can still see a tiny bit even in our “base color” ink swatch.

Wearingeul Paradiso Ink Review: Final Thoughts

Wearingeul's 30ml ink bottle is classic and functional: a display option that works perfectly for daily use.

Wearingeul Paradiso ink is a dreamy, light blue shimmer ink that offers more depth than you’d expect. While it leans bright and airy in tone, it writes darker than its hue implies, especially in broader nibs. The silver shimmer is gorgeous and consistent, and the ink’s performance in water and on high-quality paper was excellent. Between the sturdy bottle, literary theme, and visual appeal, Paradiso is a standout choice for those wanting to add a celestial glow to their journaling or correspondence.

FAQ: Wearingeul Paradiso Ink Review

Q: Is Wearingeul Paradiso too light for everyday writing?
A: Surprisingly, no! While the base color is a light blue, it writes with a powerful presence, especially in broad or stub nibs (or dip pens).

Q: Does the shimmer clog pens?
A: As with any shimmer ink, we recommend cleaning your fountain pen after using Paradiso ink. However, the shimmer particles in Paradiso are finer than many others you’ll find in inks in today’s market and evenly distributed, making it a good candidate for shimmer-friendly fountain pens.

Q: What nib size shows off Paradiso’s shimmer best?
A: Broad, BB, Stub, or Flex nibs, or glass dip pens, will show the shimmer most dramatically. Finer nibs may not fully reveal the shimmer.

Q: How does Paradiso perform on everyday paper?
A: On high-quality paper like Rhodia, the ink performs beautifully with no feathering or bleedthrough. On more absorbent paper, shimmer visibility may be reduced.

Q: Where can I find more Wearingeul inks?
A: Explore the full Wearingeul lineup at PenChalet.com and request your favorites for future reviews!

This sounds wonderful! What about low Acid archive inks?

I love Wearingeul inks. They are wonderful. Wet, fluid and amazing colors. However I’m hesitant with this Paradise ink, the last one of that kind of pale that I went for is Wendy Darling. The color and shade of Wendy are very beautiful but by all means not suitable to write more than a few sentences or draw with it. It is beautiful but too pale and seems to me for the swatches that Paradise has the same problem. I will have to try a sample to be able to see how it behaves

I would like to see how the ink Paradise behaves in a fountain pen. The strokes are quite different with a dip pen than a fountain pen and still I have the feeling that even though it is a beautiful color it will not be good enough for a long write session

I agree. I just went through many inks to select an ink for a new pen. I found the comparisons were significantly different with a fine nib versus a medium and a 1.0 stub. These comparisons with a brush are great for broad color comparisons, but it would be much better if there were fountain pen writing samples.

Regarding the pale shade of blue in paradise it looks like is paler than the one in Alice in Wonderland. The color in Alice is Wonderland is a little bit darker and is a good writer. Again I will not use it for kind sessions but it is readable

I’d love to see a blackest black ink comparison, if you haven’t done one already!
