Review of the Taccia Covenant Fountain Pen

Product Review of the Taccia Covenant Fountain Pens

I decided to Review the Taccia Covenant Fountain Pen because I was intrigued with the look and design of the pen and there isn't a lot out there about the pen. The Taccia Covenant has one of the most unique designs with it's elongated cap which is just shy of overall length of the pen and it is also longer than the barrel and section of the pen. This unique cap design gives the pen a slim barrel but with the cap posted it covers most of the barrel with only the section exposed making a much wider pen. Because the cap covers so much of the pen it only extends the length of the pen about an inch when it is posted.

Taccia Covenant Fountain Pen Review

The Taccia Covenant comes in three great colors, traditional jet black, a beautiful midnight breeze that has a gorgeous shimmering blue resin, and parchment swirl with brown and ivory colors. The fountain pen Taccia Covenant Fountain Pen Review nib is available in either fine, medium or broad nib sizes. The Taccia Covenant Fountain Pen comes with a two-tone stainless steel nib and has a converter included with the pen or the pen will accept a standard universal ink cartridge. The pen writes wet with some scratchiness but it is pleasant to write with. The nib on the pen has minimal flex and little line variation and performs well. Many customers ask if the pen has a lot of flex to the nib and I am not sure where that comes from but I didn't find that at all. Although I like the way the pen writes as I said earlier there is little flex and not much line variation with the pen.

When writing with the Taccia Covenant fountain pen I found I prefer to write without the cap posted. It did not feel too bulky but I felt there was a bit too much weight on the rear of the pen when the cap is posted. Also occasionally when I would remove the cap after writing I would end up unscrewing the section of the pen rather than the cap. I also felt the size and balance of the pen very good without the pen posted.

Taccia Covenant Fountain Pen Review Packaging

The Taccia Covenant fountain pen comes in a black leather box with a satin interior making it a great presentation. The Taccia logo is printed on the underside of the box lid and there is a small pocket as well.

Pros of the Taccia Covenant Fountain Pen
  • Well built quality construction. Worth the price.
  • Good Ink flow.

Cons of the Taccia Covenant Fountain Pen
  • Occasional issue when removing the cap the section unscrews instead when posted.

Taccia Covenant Fountain Pen Review Conclusion

The Taccia Covenant Fountain Pen is priced right at the top with other stainless steel nib pens and I feel that is about where it should be. The overall construction and performance of the pen are great. I really liked the look and design of the pen with its cigar shape and elongated cap. The Taccia Covenant Fountain Pen is one of the lesser known pens but definately worth taking a look at for your next pen purchase.

Taccia is a Japanese pen company with some very innovative designs including the Taccia Savanna fountain pen made from real buffalo horn.

Superb nib, interesting body. I don't think anyone but a giant would want to use it posted, though.

My only Taccia. A truly original design, unlike anything else I've seen on the market lately. The nib is a #5 steel jowo nib, that is polished to perfection. It can become a bit unwieldy when posted. But is extremely comfortable unposted, even throughout a long writing session. A great pen at a killer price. And definitely something that would get the attention of even a "Non-pen person".

I was intrigued by this pen and have been looking at it so it was time to order! it came promptly and well packed. I do not have large hands and will never use this pen posted but it wasn't as a posted pen that it appealed to me. Not posted it is a perfect size and I am thinking of the cap as a beautiful hard case for the pen. The nib is smooth and puts down a clean line. I ordered the fine point and it is a joy to write with. I have been collecting pens for 50+ years so you can imagine that I am always looking for something that is unusual and yetbeautiful and this one fits the bill!

An unusual pen this one, the cap covers almost the entire pen, it can be posted and again covers almost all of the pen. High quality look and feel, I have the blue one and the black one, one fine and one medium nib, these are wert and very smooth.

The Taccia covenant is one great pen. Its styling is unique and people will ask about it. I would like to compliment Pen Chalet as I wanted a broader nib and they responded immediately solving my problem. I would also like to thank Pen Chalet for their outstanding videos which examine the finest details of the pens. Get the Covenant--you will love it.

You really do get two pens in one with the Covenant. You can use it capped or uncapped in ways that giver a distnctively feel in the hand. No other pen is quite the same. It also writes quite well.

Incredible pen, I bought the broad nib parchment swirl. The nib is one of the smoothest I have ever used and is addictive. The cap is massive and will post all the way down to the grip section and you will have to screw it in. When posted it looks like an oversize pen. You will find it heavy in general and heavy on the back end as well but I like the weight. I also write without the cap sometimes and it's very light but still long enough to write comfortably.

I also purchased a parchment swirl with a fine nib and it has a scratchiness to it,but it is still very pleasant to write with. It just sounds scratchy like your writing something important on the paper, but it's a fun nib to write with as well. I've never tried the medium so I don't know what that is like.

This was my first experience with Taccia and now I'm buying up as many Taccia pens I can find because the nibs are smooth, smooth, smooth and are so fancy and professional looking that you will have to make sure to never forget them on your desk because they will go missing they are that impressive.

just...get...it...man
