Pilot Namiki Falcon Fountain Pen Review
Product Review of the Pilot Falcon Fountain Pens
I recently wrote a blog for Pen Chalet about the new Pilot Namiki Falcon when the new black with rhodium (chrome) trim pen was released. However, I thought it was time to review my falcon after 6 months of personal use and enjoyment.I own and use my Pilot Namiki Falcon fountain pen on a regular basis. I waited until the black with rhodium trim pen was released because I personally like the chrome look better than gold. I have seen and watched the Falcon become one of the best sellers for Pen Chalet, and wondered what all the fuss was about. Believe the hype, the Falcon is truly an amazing fountain pen. The Pilot Namiki Falcon has classic simplistic design and look, whether in gold or chrome, with beautiful lines. I would call it a medium width pen, not as bulky as some of my other pens, but is very comfortable to use. I have only used the converter fill system and have never had a problem with the ink intake.

Pros to the Namiki Falcon fountain pen:
- Cost, under $200 for a 14K nib fountain pen. Price is super for what you get.
- Ink flow has been super.
- Classic look and slim feel in hand.
- Converter fill system works flawlessly.
- Flex Nib (unique experience)
Cons to the Namiki Falcon fountain pen:
- Limited colors (only available in black with either gold or rhodium trim), although a Red Falcon is scheduled to be released later this year!
- Flex Nib (may take time to get used to).
- Presentation box is simple (although helps keep cost down).
Conclusion of the Namiki Falcon Review
My Overall grade for the Pilot Namiki Falcon (grade 1-10, with ten being the highest, grading value, ink flow, options and overall experience) is a 9. I highly recommend this pen to any new fountain pen lover.

Pilot Falcon Reviews from our Customers
See what our customers have to say about the Pilot Falcon Fountain Pens. Don't just take our word for it, read actual customer reviews of the product and see what they think.Years ago I used to buy cheap Scheaffer pens at the drug store and put in lever-operated converters so I could fill them from a bottle. More recently my oldest son took up handwriting as an academic study and he converted me to the Falcon pen. I like the smooth, controllable nib and the screw-type ink cylinder. I like that it clips to my shirt pocket pretty firmly.

Great for EF writing. Not as much nib flex as I had hoped for. The diameter of the pen is very small. Much more difficult to write with than larger pilot pens with my big hands. Nib tuned very well.

One of the pens that first intrigued me into joining the fountain pen community but I waited a full year before purchasing and it has been another year since and I can easily say this is a must have. I don’t really flex it much but the ink lay down on this is like no other pen. The shading it produces even with a extra fine nib and no pressure is on another level. I regret not getting a few more before the price was hiked to be honest.
The nib is so smooth and has never once skipped no matter how much I’ve test flexed it or how long I left it unused. Every time it touches a paper, it just glides across it. Pilot really outdid themselves with this.

Great writer, flexy nib takes some use to but not hard to manage. Absolutely worth the price.

Takes some getting used to, as with any pen that's quite different from the run-of-the-mill. Love the delicate line variation produced by this soft fine nib.

Wonderful pen. Pleasure to write. Just a slight amount of springiness. Especially the SF nib. Clean, crisp lines when writing in English. In addition writing non English script works very well.
