About the Visconti Homo Sapiens Dark Crystal
The Visconti Homo Sapiens Dark Crystal fountain pen is a contemporary, elegant design combining the unique Homo Sapiens resin and lava dust mixture with the Homo Sapiens Dark Ages' glossy black metalwork and 18kt gold ruthenium-plated nib. Featuring the popular Homo Sapiens body style and 'double reservoir' power filling system, the Visconti Homo Sapiens Dark Crystal fountain pen stands out amidst a gorgeous lineup with the distinctive smoky effect on the transparent Crystal ink chamber.
The smoky transparent Crystal ink chamber replaces a section of the traditional Homo Sapiens pen body, making the pen somewhat of a demonstrator fountain pen and offering a view of the current ink level and the inner workings of the pen. The ring of the Homo Sapiens Dark Crystal is in smoked transparent resin and shows the name of the collection by dry engraving. The iconic clip is in glossy black brass thanks to a galvanic process and the Visconti logo stands out on the bright ivory background. The logo placed on the pen cap takes up the dark color of the entire writing instrument.
The original Homo Sapiens came with Visconti's 'single reservoir' power filling system, but the Visconti Homo Sapiens Dark Crystal fountain pen features the upgraded double reservoir, an easy to use filling system with considerable benefits. For example, the double reservoir features two reservoirs designed to prevent leaking during air travel.
Each Visconti Homo Sapiens Dark Crystal fountain pen comes fitted with an 18k gold ruthenium-plated nib. As with the original Homo Sapiens, the Dark Crystal is made from volcanic lava rock making the pen virtually unbreakable. The cap also features Visconti's 'hook safe lock' for easy removal and safety from leaks.
