About the Platinum Procyon
The Platinum Procyon fountain pen is named after the brightest star in the constellation of Canis Minor. It has the Platinum "Slip & Seal" mechanism and a stainless steel nib. Made of aluminum, the pen has good balance. It is equipped with a feed designed for easier ink absorption using Platinum's "Last Drop Mechanism" and a large, pentagon-shaped nib that offers superb resiliency and flexibility.
Originally designed to attract attention, this award-winning design is now available in two new colors: Shadow Mica and Carmine Red. Both feature Procyon's original colors, black and Red, but with a special coating that creates a particle-like shine and a smooth feel for an amazing writing experience.

And, of course, we have the Platinum Procyon Fountain Pen. The pen has a metal cap and barrel, the finish depends on your color choice, but they've been known to feature some bright colors alongside classic colors. The bottom of the pen has a slight round, as well as the top of the cap. Chrome clip on the pen. It has the Procyon logo in just a small, subtle grey color and then at the bottom of the cap is a chrome band. On the back side of the cap is, "Platinum, made in Japan."
The cap is threaded, and unscrews, and can be posted on the end of the barrel of the pen. It has a clear resin section, where you can see the ink inside, and then a matching threaded section where the cap screws on. And then a chrome, stainless steel nib.
Since it is a cartridge converter pen, the section will unscrew, and you can add a Platinum 500 or 700 converter if you want to use bottled inks or, of course, the Platinum ink cartridges. They are a proprietary cartridges, so you have to use the Platinum brand cartridges or a Platinum brand converter with this fountain pen.

I love writing with a Procyon pen. I now have 4 of them in different colors. They are my "work" pens. I use a variety of permanent inks with a converter. All of mine are (F) nibs. The one that is inked with Platinum Chou-Kuro ink may be the smoothest writing Japanese fine steel nib + ink combo I've discovered yet.

I got a Procyon in both Turquoise Blue (medium) and Persimmon Orange (fine). Very nice weight in the pens and colors were vibrant. Both are wonderful writers. Fun note: the Permission Orange pen is a perfect match for Noodler's Dragon's Napalm. I don't typically have a pen dedicated to one ink, since I have way too many inks for that, but if I did, those two would be THE pair.

Solid performance and great color. Like other Platinum pens, the capping system keeps the nib wet and ready to write. Order a converter too; I love how easy it is to fill, even from a sample vial.

I absolutely love this pen. It writes great and the quality of this pen is wonderful. I purchased it with a fine nib and it writes incredibly smooth. As soon as the turquoise Procyon is back in stock I'm going to purchase this color too.I'm highly impressed! I am utterly thrilled with the Platinum Procyon fine nib fountain pen from Pen Chalet. It has a decent weight to it that i enjoy and the nib writes an incredible line. They were out of the converters when I made my purchase so I have not yet been able to use my bottled inks with it, but the cartridges that I purchased with the pen write a beautiful line that I am more than pleased with. There was a hiccup with the shipping but that was all on USPS and not Pen Chalet. As soon as I brought it to their attention they resolved the issue and my pen arrived two days later. Customer service was truly so easy to deal with and I will definitely be ordering from Pen Chalet again soon.
