The Platinum Iro Urushi fountain pens feature the simply stunning Izumo fountain pen design that many have come to admire as the epitome of luxurious curves. The deceptively simple shape is actually a study in subtle arcs with a smooth convex cap profile carrying directly through to the pen's barrel, where it reverses to concave before veering back to convex. Every surface of the Platinum Iro Urushi fountain pen is another luscious curve with barely a straight line to be found in the entire pen's design. For obvious reasons, the Iro Urushi has become an iconic collection from one of the most respected pen makers in the industry.

Iro Urushi (meaning colored urushi) pulls inspiration from artwork created during the Endo period. The two new Izumos joining the Platinum Iro Urushi Fountain Pen Collection in Summer 2023 will debut the NEW fountain pen nib. The nib is the same 18kt gold nib but will now feature the Izumo logo stamped below the nib's breather hole and the Izumo clouds surrounding the Izumo temple stretched across the tines of the nib.
