Pilot Custom Heritage 912 Video Script

***Note: Trims described as "chrome" in the video featured are more accurately described as rhodium plated.

This is the Pilot Custom 912 fountain pen. It comes in a cardboard box with a clear transparent window, so you can see the pen inside. It has the pilot logo embossed in silver on the top of the box lid. That box lid is a spring hinge that opens, and inside we have the Pilot Custom 912 fountain pen. This is the black resin version of the pen. It comes with chrome-colored accents. And you can see the top of the cap, just that black resin with a small chrome band that runs around the top of the cap that attaches that clip to the pen, that chrome-colored clip.

The bottom of the cap, there is two chrome-colored bands, a thinner and a thicker band. On the thicker band, you can see the custom 912 engraved with some stars and then on the back side pilot made in Japan. It actually has a blue luster, the pen, if you get it under light. It looks black to the eye, but when the lights hit it, you can see just a little hint of blue. You don't really see that with a naked eye so much, but just with the camera, you can see a little glossy blue. At the bottom of the barrel, there is a small chrome band and then just a small resin to tip or end of the barrel, the pen.

This is the stub version of the pen. One nice thing about the Pilot Custom 912 is that it comes with a wide assortment of nib sizes that are available between the falcon nib, a stub nib, and a music nib, as well as your other standards. It comes with a gold nib. You can see the pilot logo engraved with other etchings on the nib of the pen. It also has a small chrome-colored band between the grip section and the barrel of the pen. It's a cartridge convertor style pen, so to exchange the ink, you simply unscrew that grip section from the barrel of the pen.

It will come with a pilot convertor included, and it also comes with some pilot ink cartridges, as well. So you can try out with the ink cartridges or bottled ink, whichever you would prefer. Really like the simple basic look of the black pen with the chrome-colored accents. And the extra nib sizes is a plus on this pen. Get your Pilot Customer 912 fountain pen at PenChalet.com!

It’s a really good pen! Writes smoothly, too. I like the slight flex of the nib. I am glad I spent the money to have a dependable pen.

Pilot is a pen giant with first rate products. Their pens are elegant, beautifully made, and functional works of art. They really are tastefully designed to perfection. Never a skip or hard start. I have three Custom 912’s and they never disappoint. My go to pens.

I’m a lefty so I bought the Waverly nib. Excellent writer with no skipping of ink. Really nice addition to my collection. Zero regrets

Arrived quickly and as described. It’s a Pilot. What else really more can I say. They’re always excellent pens. The FA nib has some nice flex to but like all, don’t flex it too much or you’ll spring the tines on the nib. I have nothing but praise for Pen Chalet and they also have excellent Social Media interaction.

I got mine with the flex nib. This nib gives a pretty big line variation, which is awesome. I just wish the feed would keep up. Thankfully there are options to replace the feed with an ebonite version with extra grooves to improve ink flow. Other than that, this is probably my favorite pen that I own. I love the style, the quality is fantastic, and it's extremely comfortable.

I absolutely love this pen! I purchased mine with the Waverly nib being a left handed writer, and I really think it helps.
I find this pen to be my most comfortable pen to write with.

The look of this pen to me is very classy. I compare the style of this pen to a tuxedo.

This is a delight of a pen and has rekindled my interest in flexible nibs. Honestly, I had gravitated towards stubs and cursive italics instead, having given up on finding any decent modern flexes that were NOT on dip pens. I had also tried a Pilot Falcon with a flexy nib and that was not a gratifying experience. But this? This was glorious.

Early years as a journalist, madly taking notes to capture conversations and scenes, totally ruined my handwriting. I recently undertook to improve my handwriting, and promised myself a fine pen if I stuck with it - nothing haughty, but a fine pen. This has been the reward - the Custom 912, with a "stub" nib that smoothly renders a really crisp, clear and flowing italic style. "Stub" nibs are not widely known and I encourage you to check that category, they provide elegant and clarity without being difficult or overwrought. Pen Chalet was the perfect connection, with great selection, and tracking down the model from the maker at a good price and arranging speedy shipment. Loving this pen. Thank you!

The FA nib works well, but not without it's ink flow/Railroading issue. If you are thinking of purchasing a FA nib from Pilot, just know, if you write... fast and FLEX at the same time, you may experience railroading on the paper. Slow writing, and it will keep up... mostly. Not a big issue unless you FLEX a lot and can't write slowly... . I really like the Pilot Custom F. pens, and think they are worth every penny. :-) There are ebonite feeds out there to overcome the slow ink flow issues for the FA nibs, but it might void your warranty if you replace it. That doesn't matter to me, I've ordered one today to replace the stock feed. Love the pen :=)
