The FA nib works well, but not without it's ink flow/Railroading issue. If you are thinking of purchasing a FA nib from Pilot, just know, if you write... fast and FLEX at the same time, you may experience railroading on the paper. Slow writing, and it will keep up... mostly. Not a big issue unless you FLEX a lot and can't write slowly... . I really like the Pilot Custom F. pens, and think they are worth every penny. :-) There are ebonite feeds out there to overcome the slow ink flow issues for the FA nibs, but it might void your warranty if you replace it. That doesn't matter to me, I've ordered one today to replace the stock feed. Love the pen :=)

I love the Pilot 912. I would prefer a different converter though. I had trouble with the Con 70 and I called customer service and they are sending me a piston converter that will work better for me! I'm putting in my next order with Pen Chalet today!

I just got my Pilot Custom 912, which I've wanted for a while. I'm pleased with the way the soft fine nib performs for me. This black pen and silver pen is simple and elegant.

This is my first purchase on PenChalet and I have to say that I am very satisfied with everything. Precise and fairly quick shipping times, excellent service. The Pilot 912 is a really well made pen, solid, the material is of high quality, sober line, not flashy but elegant. The Soft Fine nib is a marvel, it is a true semi-flexible which allows for a good variation of stroke. PERFECT! thanks to the PenChalet staff

A wonderful pen. The flex nib is a joy to write with. The pen is classic, well balanced (I post it) and the finish is as typical for Pilot - flawless. Understated design. I love it.

You really need the right ink, but once you get the right ink for the pen, its heaven. Expensive!. But worth it if you're looking for the next level pen. The music nib is a specialty nib, wouldn't recommend for everyone. Small writing is not happening.

Does railroad. Use for Japanese hiragana, kanji and English script. I love the line variation. I will buy another one. Not a pen I would use for long letter writing or note taking.

I was never going to own a black fountain pen. This one writes so beautifully I made an exception. It writes with a little bounce and flex to give your handwriting something special.

Very smooth writing instrument. I chose the "Fine" nib. It writes perfect to how I want to write. Flipping it upside down allows an even finer point that I can write in a paper check register with out effort and the ink doesn't bleed through.

This is my first ever Pilot pen (I am mostly a Pelikan, Montblanc, Waterman and Parker person for 40 years) but this is a great pen! I wanted something different so I opted for a Waverly nib and it is a beautiful thing! You're going to want one of these!!!
