About the Noodlers Neponset
Named after an ariship blimp designed by the New England Airship company, Dartmouth Airship Co., The Noodlers Ink Acrylic Neponset fountain pen comes with an ebonite feed while the body and cap of the pen are acrylic. The various color choices offer drastic patterns and designs.
The Noodlers Ink Neponset is the largest of their fountain pens they offer. Its shape is similar to the airship and is built from the original material used for fountain pens, ebonite which was vulcanized by Charles Goodyear in Massachusetts and his company also built the Neponset blimp.
The pen is fitted with a three-tined flex music nib, the "Vishnu Victory", for line variation. Vishnu Victory being in honor of the World War II soldiers as well as the source of ebonite used for the original fountain pens and Nepeonset airship. The Neponset fountain pen is also fitted with a plunger style piston fill mechanism.

This is the ghostly blue version of the pen. You can see in both the cap and the barrel it has the alternating blue and white acrylic resins, and it has a pearlized pattern to it so you can kind of see the different sheens as you rotate that barrel and the light reflects off of it. You can see that pearlized both of the blue and the white. The pattern of the pen, it reminds me of a lava lamp a little bit.
Then, at the bottom of the cap we have a small chrome band. It has the Noodler's Ink logo engraved on that band. And once again on the clip of the pen, it's a chrome colored clip with the Noodler's Ink logo engraved again. And that clip is held on by that thin chrome band at the top of the cap of the pen.
The cap is threaded, it unscrews. You can post the pen. It's a pretty good size pen. It's got a nice, thick barrel. You can use the pen with or without it posted, whichever you prefer. I feel like the pen is big enough to use it without the cap posted.
This particular Noodler's Ink pen comes with a music style nib. You can see the two different ink channels. And a little bit broader point. This pen is filled by removing the grip section from the pen. It has this plunger style fill mechanism to fill the ink.
Noodler's Ink, they're a fairly inexpensive brand, but they make some really good pens. They're fun to write with. Get your Noodler's Ink Neponset Fountain Pen at PenChalet.com!

This is the Noodler's Ink Acrylic Neponset Fountain Pen. It comes in a white cardboard box. The Noodler's Ink logo printed on it with other pictures around the exterior of the box, and inside we have the Noodler's Acrylic Neponset Fountain Pen.This is the ghostly blue version of the pen. This pen, in Red Rebellion ebonite, is the second Neponset I've gotten in my second adventure with this pen. I'm glad I made the effort.
In use, it has the vaunted "velvet stroke". Writing with a very light hand, it tends somewhere between a Medium and Broad nib; writing with a somewhat heavier hand expands that to a Broad to Double Broad; and a little more approaches a Triple Broad or Coarse. That's more pressure than I'm comfortable with, though, so I'll call its MB to BB width good and resort to dip pens if I think I need more.

Noodler's is doing some funky stuff when it comes to pens and this pen is one funky pen. A music nib with ebonite feed in full ebonite body for around 70 USD is a lot of pen for the money. Some folks have had issues with their music nibs but mine write well out of the box. These steel nibs don't flex like vintage gold nibs so don't expect that when you buy this pen but most definitely give good line variation. I recommend using it with inks that don't feather much and on good quality paper.

As a collector this pen fits in well with my collection. The evolution of pens, materials and styles is fascinating. This style is still unique.

I chose the Seven Pines Ebonite and the figure is quite nice. The music nib is excellent, writes well and is quite responsive to pressure to alter the line weight with no railroading. In addition for a three tine nib is exceptionally smooth which makes it lots of fun to use.

I am a huge fan of ebonite pens. The size and shape of this pen is perfect. For its size, it is quite light at 23.2 grams capped and filled and 14.6 grams uncapped and filled. Writing with its music nib is a unique experience. It is quite smooth and even when I am not intentionally flexing, I still get a bit on line variation and it makes my writing look much nicer than it normally is. The flow is very wet so good quality paper is a must. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

First time to use Noodler’s “Music Nib”. I really like it! Wide range of flex. The ebonite is beautifully patterned and matched in a very complimentary way. Have ordered two more colors! with music nib!

Cool pen! Very flexible nib. To me, it writes like a broad nib when not flexed.

I felt like Goldilocks when I purchased this pen. The first was too dry and would skip while writing. The second was too wet and bold to be practical for note-taking and writing. But the third one was just right. Gave me a fine-medium line when barely touching the page, then exploding to BBB when I laid on the pressure. Really an awesome pen once you find the one you like. Ebonite is an interesting material too. Feels fragile to me, so I'm babying it in a pen case. Really great ink capacity if you use the Noodler's 308 cartridges with it. 2.7ml is a lot of ink for this gusher of a pen!
