Wasn't expecting to like this one but it has been my EDC since I received it. It just makes me happy. Fills easily, writes smoothly, looks great! It's a win win!

Very comfortable pen and writes very smoothly. It's a pleasure to use. It's a very striking and unusual color that I especially enjoy.

Fabulously smooth writer that won't break your budget. Writes better than a lot of pens in much higher price points. Not cheap, but also not so precious that you worry about it.

I got a Procyon in both Turquoise Blue (medium) and Persimmon Orange (fine). Very nice weight in the pens and colors were vibrant. Both are wonderful writers. Fun note: the Permission Orange pen is a perfect match for Noodler's Dragon's Napalm. I don't typically have a pen dedicated to one ink, since I have way too many inks for that, but if I did, those two would be THE pair.

Solid performance and great color. Like other Platinum pens, the capping system keeps the nib wet and ready to write. Order a converter too; I love how easy it is to fill, even from a sample vial.

I ordered a Fine and it is really fine and like a true Extra fine. Even so, it writes great. I am enjoying using this pen and it is a great value for the price.

I absolutely love this pen. It writes great and the quality of this pen is wonderful. I purchased it with a fine nib and it writes incredibly smooth. As soon as the turquoise Procyon is back in stock I'm going to purchase this color too.I'm highly impressed! I'm also very happy with how quickly and meticulously Pen Chalet packed and shipped my order. This was the first time ordering from this company and I appreciate the time and care they took to package my order so it arrived to me safely.

I am utterly thrilled with the Platinum Procyon fine nib fountain pen from Pen Chalet. It has a decent weight to it that i enjoy and the nib writes an incredible line. They were out of the converters when I made my purchase so I have not yet been able to use my bottled inks with it, but the cartridges that I purchased with the pen write a beautiful line that I am more than pleased with. There was a hiccup with the shipping but that was all on USPS and not Pen Chalet. As soon as I brought it to their attention they resolved the issue and my pen arrived two days later. Customer service was truly so easy to deal with and I will definitely be ordering from Pen Chalet again soon.

No doubt about it, Platinum has hit it out of the park with this pen. I was originally sent the Procyon that was not the 100th Anniversary Edition, but Jen and Rob - as always - went way over their heads to make sure I received the pen I ordered. (Note: The only difference between the Anniversary Edition and the "regular" Procyon is some fancy, cool looking Anniversary logo on the back of the cap.) The box is certainly nothing to do backflips over, but it holds and protects the pen while containing the myriad documentation associated with this series. The finish is lovely. It is by no means a lacquer finish, but it isn't supposed to be. It feels great in the hand and the step-down is just enough to allow for a sure grip regardless of how you hold the pen. I followed my new pen ritual and rinsed the nib and feed in a very mild soap (Mrs. Meyer's) and tepid water after which I let the unit dry under my desk fan. I thereafter filled the pen with iroshizuku ama-iro ink (couldn't resist as it almost matches the color of the pen) and while stiff, it's smooth as glass and puts down a nice Japanese medium. This is a super solid pen on most every level. I'm a bit irritated that Platinum chooses not to include a converter with this pen if for no other reason than I believe the cost justifies a polite request for a converter. I am a bit OCD on the converter issue inasmuch as I do not switch converters between pens, ie. the converter that came with the pen stays with the pen unless, of course, a converter fails or is otherwise rendered unusable, but that has happened to me only once on a Parker Duofold Centennial that I have had since 1996 so it was entitled to a fresh converter in any case. In short, I highly recommend this pen for anyone looking to experience the pleasure of writing with a Japanese fountain pen and, moreover, see for yourself that a stainless steel nib can be just as good - if not better - than a gold nib. Lastly, it's worth reiterating that Pen Chalet is prompt, courteous, helpful, and the best pen sellers you could shake a stick at!
