Platinum Plaisir Fountain Pens Reviews

I am building a collection of Platinum pens and this Plaisir is one of the lower priced pens but the quality is really quite good for the price point. I ordered the silver metal pink and it is beautiful. Is a fine nib which is a bit finer than I like because of Japanese nibs being really fine but really Ok. I am using a Platinum pink cartridge ink in the pen as it seems to fit better than the convertor. Still a bit of conflicting information in the pen world about the Preppy and Plaisir using a convertor. My solution is that I use cartridges in the Preppy and Plaisir and convertors in the Balance and the Cool. All Platinum products. I like this pen enough to have two of them. Just added another colour. It is good to choose one company sometimes and learn all about that company and its products. Trying to be a user and not as much a collector. That doesn't always work though as Pen Chalet has such good specials on other items.:) Very happy with Pen Chalet and their responsive service.

I prefer the platinum preppy to the plaisir. This feels too tinny and the nib too insecure.

Great. Cheap. Pen. I had one of these in my collection already. They are very light weight. Have a nice size to them. Have a great smooth nib. And best of all, after months of non-use, pull off the cap and it writes beautifully! I have a lot of much more expensive pens in my collection and very, very few of them will write without a little "priming" to get them started writing. (I keep a small glass of water on my desk just for this task.) I actually got this one for my son to add to his collection. Nice pen and you can't go wrong getting one here, from the great folks at Pen Chalet! Better yet, get several and get free shipping! I truly love this pen. The fine line that is applied without wasting ink is perfect for those of use who aren't master penmen. I have to sign my name at work and the line never wavers. The pen keeps up with me. Lesser pens will split at the nib or have bleeding ink or just be blobby. I have found a new pen friend. Definitely worth the money.

I have enjoyed my Plaisir fountain pen. It is a wonderful pen to write any type of note, list, essay, or letter. It fits comfortably in my hand and is very light weight. I actually bought one in green and in blue, and am glad I did. This is just another of the great pens I have purchased through Pen Chalet.

The only complaint I have of this pen is I received was the light blue mod instead of the darker lie love the pen great value

I absolutely love my fountain pen. I ordered the pink one and it is stunning. I love pens and have collected a few over the years, to my husbands dismay. My favorite pens are fountain pens. My Plaisir pen writes as well as my Cross fountain pen, but a lot less expensive. Thank you Pen Chalet for the quick shipping and have great prices on pens!!! I am new to fountain pens and really liked the look of this pen and the color. The only disappointment I had when I received the pen was that the nib was silver instead of blue as depicted in the photographs on the website, so that was kind of a bummer, but by no means a deal breaker: I guess the just ran out of blue nibs that day at the factory (lol). I ordered a medium nib and it's super smooth and hasn't skipped. To be honest, it writes better than my MontBlanc Starwalker fountain pen, which I received last year after finishing an educational endeavor. The pen feels like a much more expensive pen, but it is not flamboyant or gaudy or over the top. It's a simple beauty. It's constructed nicely, It does what it is designed to do, which is write with liquid ink, and it does it darn good for the price. I plan to order several more actually, I just need to get clear on what colors of the Plaisir actually come with a nib that matches the color of the pen. Lastly, the staff at Pen Chalet has been very nice and the shipping was quite fast. I plan to order several more pens and ink from them after the Holidays.

Nice handling pen with a little heft to it. Fine nib was just right. Ink flow skipped unpredictably and intermittently at the beginning, but flushed pen well and no more problems. Firm click and fit to the cap. Came with a cartridge, but used a separate piston converter instead. Cartridge could be re-used with ink of choice in lieu of converter. Nib was smooth and needed no tuning as far I was concerned. Sadly, I lost it after three weeks (not sure how) but planning on getting a replacement in the same blue model.
