Platinum Plaisir Fountain Pens Reviews

I have several Platinum pens and love them all - and this one certainly did not disappoint either. Beautiful red metallic barrel. This pen has a much lighter feel to it than my other platinum pens, but definitely still a quality pen and great for the price. As all of my Platinum pens, this one always writes smoothly the first time, every time, even after not using for a week. Beautiful color pairing with Pilot Iroshizuku Momiji ink! Makes me happy!!

great pen, I bought the extra fine this time but I think I will move to the medium next because it is really fine as it says.

Very nice pen. Just the right weight for me. Good for everyday use.
If you use cartridges, you need to remember that Platinum pens use only Platinum cartridges.

This is a solid, durable travel pen that does not mind getting knocked around. I had bought this in a Fine nib, not realizing this was a Japanese nib, producing a narrower line. Platinum makes great interchangeable nibs, so I put a Medium Preppy nib on the Plaisir, and it works fine. The orange color is very distinctive.

This is my new favorite replacement for the Pilot Metropolitan. The grip is much more comfortable than the Metro and the transparent grip gives one a good view of the ink you're using. The nibs are easily swapped with the Platinum Preppy, so it's possible to expand one's nib options.

This completes my Plaisir collection. I now own all of the colors! I mainly use these with Diamine shimmering inks. They write smoothly and I have no problems with ink feed. I will say however, that with organics studios sheening inke it just GLIDES !

I purchased the gunmetal version of this pen. It’s very shiny, almost mirror finished. I did not expect that. That being said, it looks fine.

The pen is light weight, and reasonably sized. It works well posted or unposted. The snap cap is really satisfying to operate. It came with a Platinum Black cartridge, and can be used with Platinum cartridges, platinum converters, or the standard international adapter. I’m using platinum blue black cartridges in mine.

The flow is really great in this pen - just slightly wet. The nib is nice and fine, which I like, and it’s incredibly smooth. I have pens that cost 3mtimes as much as this that aren’t as smooth. It’s really incredible.

Color I received does not match what I ordered, writes really well but the color of pen I got I will not use probably give as a gift.

It writes smoothly, one of the best steel nibs I have ever used (smoother than Monteverde One Tool, Parker Sonnet and Sheaffer Prelude, on par with Kaweco Lilliput). However, the nib does not have the barrel matching color as it used to be (just a steel color...), which is a huge let down for me... But when I mentioned my disappointment to Pen Chalet customer service, and they gave me an offer I can't refuse. 6 stars for the customer service.
