Conklin All American Fountain Pens Reviews
Don’t pass this pen by. I love the style. The barrel diameter is perfect for me. Unposted length is very good - posted it’s a little long. The nib flows very well and writes quite smoothly without scratch. This is one of my daily go-to fountains. Good value.

Considering the price this is a great buy. The medium nib is very smooth. No hard starts or skips with a perfect medium line. It has the look and feel of a more expensive pen.

I love the All American! I ordered the Brownstone in a 1.1mm stub. It looks gorgeous! The brown resin is high quality with a lot of depth and flair. The threads are secure and smooth for the cap. The clip and nib are the same dark black color - they match and they look excellent. The nib is smooth and ink flow is good right out of the box, and didn't need any adjustments upon arrival (a common issue that has occurred with Conklin nibs for me). The pen is substantial without being heavy, and is by far my most comfortable pen to write with (my hands fit well in large men's gloves for reference). I love the Brownstone pen - it's a gorgeous pen that looks like a plastic cigar and writes well. The All American is one of my favorites, as I have 3 of them (and counting).

This pen is one of the most visually pleasing pens I have ever had. The nib writes fantastic and the weight is great. I have small hands and know that posting makes the pen too long for me, however, it is not top heavy and feels pleasing. Great pen at a great price.

Got it in the mail over the weekend, beautiful colors, very lightweight for such a hefty pen. Ink flowed very smoothly even on the cheap paper we use at work. like the "push clip" feature on the cap. will have to put this one under lock and key as the wife already wants to take it from me!!! or I can use that as an excuse to buy me another pen. ;)

The brownstone is beautiful! I chose the fine nib. The fine nib writes more like a Western fine. I assumed it would write more like a Japanese fine. That's what you get for assuming, right? Overall the nib is buttery smooth on fine paper. It also writes well on the garbage I'm forced to use at work, although it really shines when writing in my Rhodia notebooks! I had some hard starting and was a bit discouraged at first. I was using majestic blue by Diamine. A buddy of mine said that Diamine tends to run dry. So, I flushed the pen really well and put in some of my "never let me down" Pilot Iroshizuku purple and BAM, she runs wet and never dries out!
The All American is a fatty, which I love. Its size reminds me of a Nakaya writer I used to own. It's an extremely lightweight pen as well. The only minor issues were some quality control problems. For instance, the cap and body have to line up just right before the cap will screw onto the body. Also, the clip was off center but I was able to get it lined up straight with a bit of gentle bending. Overall I'd buy another one in the future.

The pen writes a little finer than expected, but that's no problem. Nice pen!

Beautiful. Well balanced. Nib is scratchy. Flushed it. Changed ink cartridge. Still Scratchy. Does not write as well as my other Conklin pens. Takes too much pressure to get it to write. I use fountain pens because I have nerve damage in both hands, and fountain pens write easily with little pressure. No his one. Disappointed in its performance.

I LOVE the Sunburst and really wanted to purchase one. Like most others I did a little research, finding mixed reviews. The pen is manufactured by Yafa, who also makes the Monteverde, Stipula, and Delta pens. I had a Monteverde Intima Volcano Grey that I was very pleased with and appreciated the quality and writing experience. So, I purchased the All American, it was beyond my expectations. The quality was excellent, and it writes excellent. I loaded it with Daimine Bilberry and it began writing within seconds. After being capped for several days it writes nearly instantly. The ink flows evenly weather writing slow or quickly. The pen is rich looking with a slightly larger than usual diameter. I prefer to write unposted, and this pen rests in the web of my hand without issue or discomfort. I'm extremely pleased with the pen and am considering purchasing another.
