Conklin All American Fountain Pens Reviews

This is a great pen with a lot of look and heft to it. It writes beautifully in the fine point I got. The Yellowstone's vivid yellow makes it a real conversation piece too! It's a very nice pen for the money and Pen Chalet it tops in customer service. I have been collecting pens for 40 years, and I think it is a good value for the price.

My Conklin All-American Lapis Blue is my first fountain pen in the above $60 price range. I have always liked a fine line, but my experience with fine-point fountain pens has been dryness and scratchiness. My All-American in fine writes more smoothly than my Pilot Metropolitans and Knights in Medium--and with a finer line. I am very pleased with this pen.

Love this pen! This was a last-minute purchase to add to my collection, more out of curiosity than anything else. I loved the look of the tortoise and wondered about the Conklin brand. Yes, it is beautiful-looking, but the pen is an excellent writer, well-balanced, comfortable, with good ink-flow.

I have the medium nib on this pen and although the pen is very nice looking, it has been a disappointment with regard to writing. It has been constantly hard to start and the nib is a bit scratchy. Since most seem to really like the pen, could be that I just received a dud. Will likely give it a way or resell eventually.

This pen wrote smoothly right out of the box! It's girth may be too big for some people, but I find pens this size to be more comfortable to hold for longer writing sessions. I also love its' tortoise shell design.

I love it. I have been collecting vintage pens for about a year so I thought I might try a modern pen which replicates a 1930s style. I bought the Conklin All American Tortoiseshell with a stub nib which I'd had no experience with. On opening the box I was a bit surprised at the chunky style. After filling with Diamine ink (Autumn Oak to match the pen)and a slightly squeaky start, the pen writes beautifully. The imprint also has HOIO a mis-spelling of OHIO which will have collectable value one day. The service provided by the Pen Chalet was faultless, with my delivery from Arizona, USA to Queensland, Australia, taking only 9 days. I recommend both the pen and Pen Chalet.

I purchased the Conklin All American medium nib in the Tortoiseshell finish which to me has a great antique look which I like. The ink flow is constant and the nib is smooth with a pleasant touch of feedback. I find it to be comfortable posted at 6.6 inches or unposted at 5.12 inches. In my opinion you get a lot of pen for the money, easily equal to higher priced pens. The cap is a one and a half screw on cap and comes in at 31g in weight. This is a pen I can recommend. I received the pen faster than expected and very well packed. The pen arrived in pristine New condition, Pen Chalet's usual M.O.

I bought the orange All American with a fine nib, and it is a beautiful pen. The orange is bright and bold, and the hand feel is excellent. I love this nib, it's smooth and the ink flow is even with just a little nib creep (Noodler's ink is a bit wet for my taste, but I love the color selection). Pen Chalet's shipping was very good, the pen arrived in a few days after I place my order and I've been very happy with them.
