All American
Wonderful pen. Has a nice hefty weight to it. Got this with the omniflex nib and it writes like a dream. The pen itself is absolutely beautiful! This is my third Conklin All American and I’m definitely planning on adding more to my collection.

Duragraph
I enjoyed using my wife's Duragraph, briefly. Understandably, she didn't want to part with it for very long. I had to order my own, the amber version. I came in a nice gift box. I was very pleased with the quality and performance!

Replacement
Conklin Replacement nib. I order two replacement nibs, a fine and a stub. so I would have options for my Mark Twain. The replacement went well without emptying the pen of ink. The new nibs will meet my needs perfectly.

Limited Edition All American
I love the look and feel of my limited edition All-American, one of only 150. This is a beefy-sized, hefty pen, but without the weight it looks like it would have. I prefer lightweight pens, so this is perfect for me. Special thanks should go to Pen Chalet’s customer service dept. for their prompt and efficient dressing of a nib unit ink flow issue that needed to be addressed. The ink flow was erratic and, despite my efforts to work on the nib And repeated flushing, we decided I had a bad feed. A new unit arrived quickly with a mailing label for returning the defective unit.

All American
I picked up the Conklin All-American because I've enjoyed my Duragraph and because I wanted to give Conklin's Omniflex nib a try. I have been overall very pleasantly surprised with this pen. It's beefy but not terribly long, has a nice heft to it, and an elegant, understated look.

THE GOOD
I know many people have had trouble with the omniflex, and I certainly wouldn't try and minimize their difficulties, but in my case it's been a very nice nib. The feed is very wet as one would expect with such a thirsty writer. I've never had the nib run dry. And while this is certainly not a vintage wet noodle nib, I can get a good amount of line variation out of it. And since I try to write very lightly already, I find I can use this as a daily writer without difficulty.

I also really like the Conklin spring clip. I can see why the company patented it. It's so handy and simple that I find myself attempting to squeeze the tops of some of my other pens when clipping them! I especially wish my Duragraph had this style clip. Not sure why they haven't added it to that line as well.

THE NOT-SO-GOOD
The above said, I do have a few very minor issues with the pen. First is that the cast "Conklin" logo on the clip and the engraved markings on the barrel are flipped 180 degrees from one another when the pen is capped. If you can read one the other is upside down. I suppose it means they read together when the pen is posted, but it's going to spend more of it's time capped and it makes more sense to me to have them read correctly that way.

Another is that the nib unit in mine is installed in such a way that the nib doesn't align with the barrel engraving. It's almost 90 degrees off which seems a bit sloppy. I know I can fix it, I just wish I didn't have to. As to the nib itself, my only quibble would be that I wish the tipping was ground smaller. It's basically ground as a medium nib and I wish it was a fine.

Finally, if you tighten the cap fully (clip and engraving aligned) it really locks on the barrel. I expect this will do an excellent job keeping the nib from drying out, but it can be quite a push to loosen. I've been worried I'll bend or snap the clip a couple of times.

Certainly, these aren't major issues and don't really detract from the usability but I would expect a bit better finish in a nominally $95 pen. Still, this is an excellent writer and I'm quite happy with my purchase (expecially since I got it for about 50% off! :-) )

This one has become one of my regulars. I keep it handy and find it a perfect fit for my hand, not heavy. I got the Extra Fine nib, and so far it is one of my favorite nibs of all my pens.

This is a great fountain pen. I would recommend this as a first fountain pen. Medium nib writes smooth with the monteverde ink and also writes a fine lime when flipped over. Very happy with this pen!!

Duraflex Limited Edition
I love my Duraflex Sunstone! The brownish color sparkled with yellowish specks all around, combined with the Rose Gold accent, is just beautiful! The omniflex nib works better compared to my old omniflex. Much smoother writing experience when you are not flexing the pen. I look forward to writing with this beauty many years to come. Last but not least, Jen at sales/customer service always goes above and beyond in helping me. Will keep coming back to Pen Chalet for many years.

A very attractive, stylish pen. Great size and weight with a very good nib (I prefer Fine nibs). Actually, if you need a review of a Conklin pen in order to make up your mind to purchase it, you must be a new collector.

I admit I was a little surprised to see a round breather hole in the nib instead of a crescent-shaped one, but that in no way detracted from the pen's performance. Once again I am thoroughly pleased with another Conklin pen. I am up to eleven of them now.

Duragraph
I purchased a Cracked Ice Duragraph with stub nib in the end-of-year inventory reduction sale. The pen itself is very nice. I like the size and feel, and it balances well in my hand. I did have one problem, though. The nib was extremely rough, hard to write with, and ran dry constantly. Looking under magnification I realized the tines were of uneven length and didn't appear to have ever gone through any finish grinding or smoothing. I contacted Pen Chalet and the sent me out a replacement nib immediately and at no cost to me. The new nib works great and the pen is now a joy to write with. I'm now very happy with both the pen itself and with Pen Chalet's customer service. Thanks!

Beautiful pen! Writes perfectly right out of the box - smooth nib with just the right amount of feedback. The All American is a big pen, but lightweight. Very comfortable and a pleasure to write with. The acrylic is much prettier than the pictures convey.

Mark Twain Crescent Exclusive
This is a review of the Mark Twain Crescent Exclusive in transparent yellow. I have mine inked with Monteverde Documental Black. Writing is physically effortless with the black fine stainless steel nib. It glides and swoops across the page like a bird in flight.

Mine arrived delivering copious quantities of ink. A little nib tuning got it delivering adequate quantities of ink, and now it is perfect.

Currently available with either the stub nib or the OmniFlex nib, replacing the nib is a matter of unscrewing the installed nib and screwing in the replacement if one would prefer a fine or medium nib. Monteverde offers a broad nib with a black finish, a broad nib with a polished-steel finish, and an extra-fine nib with a polished finish that will fit, and Conklin offers an extra-fine nib with a polished steel nib that will also fit.

This is truly a remarkable pen.
