Enjoying this stub nib on this pen, but it tends to dry out very fast if not used for a day.

I got this as a Father's Day gift from my wife (my "suggestion"). I am very pleased with the look, feel and writabily of this pen. I got the full amber color and fine nib. It is light yet the size fits well in my hand (I like larger pens and golf grips) and the ink flows easily.
Since it was on sale, I am doubly pleased with this purchase.

I was extremely pleased with the packaging of my two Conklin Freedom pens! I also liked that the packaging, as well as the pens were marked as ### in a series of 1,000. That adds so much to the value. Also, the pen, itself, has solid action to put out and extract the point. I like the beefiness of the grasp. It fits my hand and my writing needs very well.

Freedom
The pens (I purchased two) arrived promptly, well packaged, and in perfect condition. Because they are limited editions (898 in all), and because I also own two pristine Duraflex Freedom fountain pens (1898 in all), I don't know if I will actually use them! BUT, they are very attractive, well made, and, at least at Pen Chalet, priced very reasonably. To own two sets of beautiful limited edition ballpoints/fountain pens at these prices is great. The pens are made from turned stock, not injection molded, and the mechanism, clip and threading appear robust. The size is toward the large side--a plus for those with medium to large hands or those who are arthritic. However, the weight is in the medium category, so the ballpoint should not be wearisome for those who write a lot. Design-wise, while the particular pattern/color is bold, the rest of the pen is not overdone; this is a pen a business person could easily wear and use. The presentation box is first rate--especially at this price point. Note that this is a capless style as most ballpoints are; rotating the clip end 180 degrees exposes the point or retracts it (This is not a push-button type pen). Due to price, relative rarity, well above average quality, and excellent style, this a pen to buy.

I love the pen, but I do NOT love the nib. I ordered Medium, which is very, very broad. I'd switch it out for a finer nib, but I don't know how and don't have the wherewithal to do it.

Stylograph
This pen has a beautiful matte finish that feels nice in the hand. It came with a converter. Screw off top posts nicely, but the pen is long enough that you don't need to post it to use it. I filled it with Noodlers Apache Sunset. If I haven't written with it in a while, it needs a bit of priming, but I don't know if that is the ink or the pen, or a combination. The medium nib has a direction that it likes to be held and will only write if it is turned in that direction. This isn't uncommon, but good to know if you are just starting out. Doesn't write wet, nor dry. Really, a lovely pen.

Just received it in the mail. Happy to finally own one of these fountain pens as one of my first. The only downside is the twist cap and the engraved limited edition on the actual pen other than that I look forward to writing all of my grad school notes with this pen.

Word Gauge
I am really enjoying my first Word Gauge.it is a good size for me, lightweight and a smooth writer. I particularly like the large ink window. I did have a little trouble twisting the piston-knob to get it moving, as I did not want to damage it. But I was careful, and it was fine. This pen is a good value and will last for years.

The pen looks good in carbon fiber with the orange window, kind of retro-modern. It’s pretty much an ideal pen for my use; piston filler, holds a good amount of ink, decent size, postable, and above all, it writes well! The availability of different nibs from Conklin is a bonus. If you just feel more stubby than fine one day, a quick nib swap and you’re back in the writing groove.

Ummm this pen is amazing, beautiful, and writes so freakin smooth out the box. Amazing balance and texture. Some may not like the metal grip as it gets slippery if your hands are oily. So don't blame the pen, wash your hands before you use them. The pen is a must have for any level of enthusiast. Conklin knocked it out the park with this vintage beauty. Pen chalet awesome on the delivery as always.

Replacement
I am totally in love with these new replacement nibs. I had a couple of flex nibs. My personal writing style was probably not highly compatible with the flex nibs. So I sat those pens back in the box. Of course i hated it because I truly loved the pens. So I ordered these replacements and fell back in love with those sheltered pens. I highly recommend these if you are not totally loving the original flex nibs. They make a world of difference in my personal writing style. Plus you get pen chalets fast shipping and wonderful customer service to stand behind the product.

I put the nib under a loupe and discovered it needed a little tuning. With the tips of the nib aligned and the nib slot centered on the feed, the initial writing after inking was sheer perfection.

That makes 12 Conklins, and counting.

Duraflex Limited Edition
I've become so fond of the Duragraph and Duraflex pens, I have to have one of each! Yes, I admit to a little bit of OCD. My pen choice is dictated by my shirt choice each day.?? These pens are beautiful, very classic in style and are great writers. I'm especially partial to the flex and the stub nibs. AND the service and selection and price is hard to beat at Pen Chalet.

Duraflex Freedom
Nice pen in a snazzy color. The "flex" nib (2nd Gen) takes some breaking in. I realize that this is a controversial issue, but it seems to me, flex or semiflex nibs rarely do well right out of the box. I was patient with this pen, and after a few months, I'm getting some good variation from the nib. Conklin pens are quality products, so the construction is very good. It's barrel is long enough, so most writers will enjoy the pen unposted; however, if you like to post, even with a large hand---like mine---it may feel a little back-weighted. Also, the Conklin cap is quite roomy around the nib, so thicker, sheening inks may cause hard starts if you don't use your pen daily. As "flexy" pens go, this is better than any Noodlers or Indian-origin pens I've had, and just a step below some of the gold nibs that are obscenely expensive. But you have to write a couple miles of ink to loosen it up.
