A really stunning pen! I purchased this as a gift for my mother, and she loves it. The abalone really shines and in the sunlight- it is spectacular. The stub nib writes well as it is a Jowo nib. A good value for an abalone fountain pen.

I bought this pen because of its homage to my hometown, Toledo. Some Duragraphs had at one time “Toledo, Ohio” on the barrel ring as well as a reference to Toledo on the nib. Unfortunately, this one didn’t have the ring reference, but that didn't affect my satisfaction with the sale. The pen is everything, or more, in regard to looks, quality and writing feel, that a pen in this price range should have. I really like the abalone inlays and the (M) nib works for me. Pen Chalet happily matched a cheaper price I found elsewhere. So a win!

I actually swapped the nib out for the FPR Flex, as I'm not a huge fan of the Omniflex personally, but the Abalone is stunning, the cap posts very nicely, and the contoured grip is greatly appreciated. Great value for your money, and the ability to swap out the nib for any standard #6 is also a huge plus especially if you're interested in learning more about nib systems. My only critique is that the cartridge capacity is just a little bit on the small side.

I recently purchased this pen with the extra-fine nib. I prefer to use bottled ink, so I have not tried it with a cartridge. The nib is slightly broader than my Namiki Vanishing Point fine. Ink delivery is smooth and the nib is very firm. The line is fine enough for my ink (Pelikan Royal Blue) to dry almost instantly. This is the nib you want (with a quick drying ink) if you are left handed! (If you want more expressive variation, consider the omniflex nib. It will probably be a bit broader, however.) The pen looks great and is a bit larger than average, with perhaps average weight. Quality of finish is very good. The cap posts well. The clip is very tight. Especially at the sale price, the quality, appearance and performance of this pen make it a very good deal.

Really gorgeous pen with the flashy iridescence of abalone on the barrel, kept from going over the top by the more serious overall design with its flat-topped black caps and silver trim. It has a real vintage vibe to it that I love and just the right amount of "wow!". I chose the omni-flex nib, and while I don't love it as a flex nib, it just writes so beautifully that it's one of my favorite pens for long writing sessions. It has great ink flow and is very comfortable in the hand. I haven't found an ink it doesn't like. My favorite though is J. Herbin's "Vert de Gris".

The pen is gorgeous. It writes very smoothly and generally flows well. I did have to work it a bit when I very first put ink into it yo get it to start flowing but after that it was golden. I tried to use the cartridges that came with it as well but I couldn't get them to flow so I've stuck with bottled ink, which is fine as that is my preference anyway. Overall very happy with this pen as well as the other duragraphs.

Wonderful pen. The abalone barrel is awesome. The feed could keep up better on the flex nib but if you slow down it's pretty good. I would recommend this pen.
