Platinum Ink Reviews
Solid converter and well worth upgrading my 2 Preppy Wa pens with. Being able to complement your pen with silver or gold options is a nice touch.

I always try and get a converter if the pen does not come with one so I can utilize the bottled inks I have.

So happy that I got this converter for my Platinum Preppy Wa Maki-e 2nd edition fountain pen. That pen came with a free & prefilled ink cartridge, which is nice, however I’m usually so excited to add bottle ink in a color that I’m super excited about versus an unknown, mystery color.
I love getting extra converters too so that way, if I am cleaning one, there’s another ready to go!

I don't love that converters cost as much as they do, seeing as I could buy an entire Preppy with that money. Still, having a converter makes life easy, which is why I bought this. It does what it needs to do, and that's exactly why one buys a converter. The quality of its build feels perfunctory -- not quite sturdy but good enough to do its job without much worry.
The only other thing maybe worth mentioning is that I put this in my Fukura Suzume Preppy Wa, and it looks lovely since it's visible through the pink resin/plastic of the pen's body while also matching the gold glitter of the detailing.

I bought this to use with the several platinum pens I have. Mostly the inexpensive preppy and prefounte models. It works well, but like most converters, does not hold a great deal of ink.

They fit the Platinum 3776 Century fountain pens solidly, and don’t come loose, or leak. Easy to turn and use. They don’t hold a lot of ink, but if you’re purchased a Platinum 3776 Century, you know this already. That’s the downside to this fountain pen, not the converter. Quality converter.

FAQs about the Platinum Ink

Does this Platinum converter fit well with the Platinum carbon ink drawing pen so that one may use a bottle of Platinum's carbon ink?
A:
Yes the Platinum 500 converter will fit the Platinum Carbon pen so you can use the bottled ink.
Q:
Is the Platinum 500 Ink Fountain Pen Converter a squeeze type. If not, how is the ink drawn into the converter.
A:
No, the Platinum 300 ink converter is not a squeeze type converter, it is a screw type converter. The ink is drawn into the converter as the piston runs up and down the converter as the black knob on the end is turned.
