Customer Reviews

Might not be the most comfortable rollerball I own, but it's certainly good enough for a long writing session. If you are worried that the grip is too slick for you, don't be, because it's actually machined with fine ridges all the way down to the tip. What I like most about the pen is how ruggedly sturdy it feels. No moving parts, no slip on cap what will loosen over time. I don't think it will break on me...ever...unless I run it over with my car. Solid aluminum pen.

Smooth, light, comfortable, beautiful! I ordered the aluminum bolt in gold anodization. I was surprised that I could operate the pen with just one thumb finger. I thought this pen would require two hands to operate, but not for me at least! Works almost like a regular clicker but you have to rotate your thumb a little to complete the motion and lock the pen in place. Very comfortable size, and I love the Schmidt easyflow 9000 refill!

I’ve been trying to get the all copper pen since September 2018! This is one popular pen! It’s a lot heavier than expected, but the extra fine Bock nib is nice. Feedback like a pencil but the perfect line width and wetness for cheap paper. Pen is built like a tank I love it.

I bought the Olive Green version of this pen and also an extra section in brass for it.
The Karas Kustoms Ink with brass section has become the best steel nib pen I own, but a bit of a disclaimer, I really hate Bock Nibs. So I replaced it with a Medium #6 nib from Franklin Christoph. The Bock Nib just has a weird type of scratchy feedback and softness that did not merge well with me. The nib worked fine and was moderately wet, but the feel was just not for me. With the FC nib replacement, it has been an absolute dream.
The pen is on the heavy side, but not nearly so heavy as to fatigue the hand. It is the perfect substantial weight, and with the brass section, the balance is ever so slightly weighted toward the nib side. Which is perfect. The combination of the flared and contoured section with the semi-hooded nib gives you that excellent feeling of complete and utter control over the pen and closeness to the page. With the metal body, this pen is virtually indestructible and will last you a lifetime. The pen doesn’t post but I’m honestly glad that it doesn’t because that would backweight the pen. The ink is long enough to be used by any hand without needing to be posted, anyway.
This is the pen that comes to my mind before any other when I think about a “buy it for life” type of pen.
This pen gets my highest recommendation.

Some additional Specs -
Diameter/grip = 10.3 mm
Diameter/max = 11.3 mm
Weight = roughly 0.99 oz
I already had a similar pen that uses the G2 refills (pilot, uniball, pentel energel, etc.) but wanted to try a version that would accept my preferred Montverde capless roller-ball refills for Parker-styled ballpoints. The exact same quality as the pen I'm already used to. The only thing to be aware of is if you tend to have "sweaty" hands like I do - The smooth metal grip can become slick after a while.

Had this pen for about eight months and have found it a beautiful writing pen, the broad nib is excellent, runs a little wet. I like the weight and it feels good in the hand

I bought the all Brass variant with a medium nib. HEAVY!! in a shirt pocket it actually lopsides the shirt with its weight. When writing,now that's another story... A beautiful one! Very smooth right out of the box (I wash and dry my pens before filling them for the first time). Used Pilot iroshizuku Chiku-Rin and the flow was moderately wet and just a pleasure to write with. No strain at all on the hands even after about 3 hours of writing continuously. The weight makes the nib contact the paper at the perfect angle and you can go on writing till the ink runs out! In the 3 months Ive been using it the brass has changed color (as expected) and lends it a very personal character.
I went through a lot of issues trying to get the shipment outside the US and Ron was there all the while sorting out the problems and I'm grateful for his support (in spite of my many emails and calls to him with loads of probably impertinent questions and difficulties I was having).
Certainly recommend the product. Definitely recommend PenChalet.com for all related purchases
