The Visconti Medici Astral fountain pen is a tribute to one of the greatest dynasties in Italian history. The Medici family was a noble house known for its political, financial, and cultural influence in Florence. Most of all, the Medici family was known for their passionate contributions to the development of Humanism and the Italian Renaissance.

The Visconti Medici Astral pen body features an eight-sided faceted design, modeled after the Florentine baptistery, a religious place, and a symbol of the city's glorious past.

This new release marks the first-ever collaboration between Visconti and a US resin manufacturer. The collaboration resulted in two spectacular resins, made in the USA and then hand-turned at Visconti’s Florentine factory:

Nova Blue (with black ruthenium trim)
Stellar Red (with silver trim)

The Visconti Medici Astral fountain pen resins were handpicked for their deep color saturation and a dusting of silver flecks that create a unique, mystifying luminescence.

To celebrate the successful collaboration, Visconti added another "first-ever" to the iconic Medici model, their patented double reservoir power filling system is paired with an ink window. The clear center band is engraved with the pen collection's name "Medici" and the window offers a clear view of the pen's remaining ink level. The Visconti Medici Astral fountain pen also features Visconti's popular hook-safe-lock closure system that secures the pen's cap. Each pen features the Visconti in-house 18kt gold nib available in varying nib sizes.

Each color of the Visconti Medici Astral fountain pen is limited and numbered to just 120 pieces. (The Medici Astral is available in fountain pen only). Medici Astral fountain pens are presented in a luxury gift box.
