The Visconti Dante Alighieri Limited Edition fountain pen honors Florence's greatest literary genius, the masterful poet, Dante Alighieri. The oversize, pearlescent ivory pen is engraved with scrimshaw detailing on the cap and acrylic sections. The barrel features a cast and metal-worked aged silver section, and the pen design depicts scenes from Dante's infamous poem, Divine Comedy. Each Visconti Limited Edition Dante Alighieri fountain pen is fitted with Visconti's 18kt white gold nib.

The Visconti Dante Alighieri Limited Edition fountain pen is made from ivory acrylic with scrimshaw and featuring a plethora of detail in sterling silver, this limited edition fountain pen is a stunning example of design excellence and master craftsmanship.

Each Limited Edition Visconti Dante Alighieri fountain pen includes a limited edition box; a true display piece featuring a brass structure created by two statues finished by hand by Florentine craftsmen. The strategically placed angel and demon statues support either side of the Visconti Dante Alighieri fountain pen, and the mahogany base includes a glass ink bottle and a booklet dedicated to the limited edition collection.

The Limited Edition release commemorates the 700th anniversary of the death of Florence's greatest literary genius, and masterful poet, Dante Alighieri.

Born in Florence in 1265, Dante Alighieri was a poet, politician, and scholar of philosophy and theology. He came of age when Florence was undergoing a period of wealth and change. Dante's life was dedicated to the pursuit of art and culture. His true inspiration was always love and the power of his feelings directed towards his muse and lost love, Beatrice. His sublime verses, written in the vernacular considered to be Italy's 'first true language' led to the universal literary masterpiece that is the Divine Comedy.

The Dante Alighieri design is inspired by the different types of love represented in the "Divine Comedy" through hell, purgatory, and paradise, and various scenes from Dante's "Divine Comedy" are depicted in the detailed silversmithing and meticulous scrimshaw work.

Visconti dedicated the pen's cap to Paradise showing a quote from the XXI Canto and an illustration of Beatrice and Dante. The design also pulls inspiration from a Doré tablet.

Purgatory is represented in the center of the pen body with silver micro-fusion showing the fortunate damned spiraling up to heaven.

At the bottom of the pen body, the pen's depiction of Dante's hell includes a quote from Canto V and an illustration inspired by a Gustave Doré painting. Protagonists Paolo and Francesca are seen in this section of the pen design dedicated to their love for one another.

This Limited Edition is limited to 321 pieces.
