Neat pen with unique filling system. Very futuristic styling with a bib you have come to love from TWSBI.

Nothing like TWSBI

This is a pretty nifty pen, not without its flaws, but overall a solid value.

First, the bad. The filling mechanism is simple in theory. Remove the barrel to expose the plunger mechanism; then, holding the pen by the section, insert the nib into the ink; push the spring-loaded plunger toward the nib, release, and watch the ink get sucked up into the pen. The problem is that once you've got the nib dipped into the ink, there is not a lot of pen left outside the bottle to grab onto. And that's when the ink bottle is nearly full. It gets harder and harder to grip the pen as the ink level in the bottle goes down. Those with slender fingers will have an easier time of it. Those with bigger hands and thicker finger may have a harder time.

That said, here's the good. One is that the size and snap cap make it very easy to carry with you and deploy quickly.

But what I like best is the ease of cleaning. A dozen or so pumps of fresh water (depending on how cooperative any given ink is) and you've got a clean pen with a few drops of water in it. Even the feed is clean after that process. I removed the nib and feed (SUPER easy to do on this pen) and set the feed into a dish of fresh water. Usually, any ink left in a feed after cleaning will seep out while the nib is soaking. Not a drop seeped out of this feed, telling me that the flush was all it needed. The ease of removing the nib and feed also makes it easier to dry the pen out before refilling it with a new ink.

I may start using this as my ink testing pen. Usually, when doing swabs of multiple colors, I use a glass dip pen because they are so easy to clean between inks. But I keep breaking my glass pens! This pen is almost as easy to clean between inks as a glass dip pen (if you don't mind refilling a pen that has a few drops of water in it), so it is going to become my new pen for testing inks when I create their swabs.

this is my new favorite pen for school work. i got a fine, and it just works when i need it to work. it's incredibly satisfying to refill, just a quick ka-chunk, like a tiny pump-action shotgun.
i have it filled with lamy blue, and it's so lovely.
i'm not sure why but it just feels like i'm capable of writing faster with this pen. also, when i'm sitting there fiddling with the pen, i find myself unscrewing the body from the grip section, it's very satisfyingly tactile. i have one of the nice rose gold twsbi eco's but i find myself gravitating toward this pen more because it's so fun and pleasant to use. it's also significantly bigger in my hand so it feels more ergonomic, but it's significantly lighter than an eco, which is probably why it feels like i can write so fast.
for $20, this pen is a steal.
please get one; you will not regret it!

This writes like a dream. The spring loaded converter feeds ink reliably and just the right amount of in.

For the price an excellent choice for use to test new inks. Fills easily, no mess ink flow is more than adequate. I'm anticipating frequent trouble free use.
