About the Pilot Custom Urushi
The Pilot Custom Urushi fountain pen has been hand finished with Urushi lacquer over resin. These pens are available in limited quantities so reserve your pen now.
The pen has been fitted with an oversize #30 two-tone 18 carat gold nib to match the pen. Included with the pen is a Pilot CON-70 as well as a Pilot IC-100 ink cartridge. The pen comes in a black faux leather gift box.

It's a nice, large, oversize pen with a glossy, black finish on the cap and barrel and gold-colored trim. On the top of the pen is a simple gold ring, and then, another ring at the top that attaches the clip on the pen with the Pilot logo engraved on the clip. And then, two bands at the bottom of the clip, a smaller band and a larger band. The larger band is engraved with "Custom Urushi", and three stars, and then, "Pilot Made in Japan," and then, three more stars.
At the bottom of the barrel of the pen is a gold band, and just a black, glossy matching end to the barrel of the pen. The cap is threaded and unscrews and can be posted on the pen, although you really don't need that pen posted because it's an oversize, nice, large pen.
It comes with an 18-karat gold, two-tone nib. A nice, large, oversize nib to match the rest of the pen with a black feed on the backside of the nib. It is a cartridge, converter-style pen, so to change the ink, you unscrew the section from the barrel of the pen, and included with the pen is a Pilot CON-70 converter for bottle inks.
It also has a Pilot IC100 Ink Cartridge included with the pen. It is underneath the false bottom of the box with information and warranty, Use and Care Guide as well.

This is the Pilot Custom Urushi Fountain Pen. It comes in a black, cardboard box, and inside is a faux-leather box with a hinge-style lid. There is zero that I can say that hasn’t already been said about these pens. The only thing I can add is WOW. The writing with this pen is glorious. It has a subtle lovely bouce when writing.

This is a high end pen with a high end price. No doubt about it. As such, certainly not for everyone, as fine-writing pens can be had for a much lower cost. But this is a GREAT pen. The urushi feels lovely in the hand; the pen is girthy but not heavy; the nib is bouncy and beautiful. If you can afford it and want a classy, business-worthy pen and are not a Montblanc fan, this is highly recommended.
