The Pelikan Maki-e Snow, Moon and Flowers Limited Edition M1000 fountain pen features the Togidashi-Taka-Maki-e technique (a combination of Taka-Maki-e and Togidashi-Maki-e techniques) to create depth in the classic motif featuring snowflakes, the moon, and flowers to symbolize three of the four Japanese seasons: winter snow, autumn moon, and spring flowers. The Pelikan Maki-e Snow, Moon, and Flowers fountain pen uses the coveted M1000 pen design, and each pen is fitted with an 18C-750 two-tone gold nib in a medium width*.

The August 2022 release is limited to just 123 pieces worldwide. The pen's beak clip is gold-plated beak clip along with the two cap bands, two trim rings at the piston knob, and the solitary trim ring bordering the pen's section. The finial features the Pelikan logo on a background matching the pen's material. The pen design also features a deep green ink window right below the threading for the pen's cap, in a green so dark you may at first mistake it for an extension of the pen's black grip section.

The snow, moon, and flower motif represents the beauty of the different seasons of Japan as depicted by snow crystals, a full moon, and cherry blossoms, all painted on the background and finished with a sprinkling of gold powder. The overall look of the pen truly reflects the traditional Japanese aesthetic, and appears to pull inspiration from classic poetry praising the "snow, moon, and flowers."

Each Pelikan Maki-e Snow, Moon, and Flowers Limited Edition fountain pen is individually numbered and also includes the artist’s signature. The limited edition release is packaged in a beautiful paulownia wood gift box.
