At the bottom of the cap, there are two chrome bands, a thinner and a thicker chrome band. On that thicker chrome band is engraved Pelikan Souveran and Germany. Then at the bottom of the barrel is the knob to actuate or to control the piston fill mechanism. Separating that knob from the rest of the barrel are two small chrome bands that run around the bottom of the barrel. The cap on the pan is threaded, so to remove the cap you want to simply unscrew it from the pen. You can post that cap. This is a pretty good-sized pen. I like the weight of it and the balance. It feels really well in my hands. The Pelikan Souveran 805 comes with a gold two-toned nib. You can see the gold colored tip and the gold colored Pelikan logo, and the rhodium color on the rest of the nib.
Great looking pen. Pretty basic design and simple, yet elegant. I like the glossy finish to the pen. There is a small viewing window here at the center of the barrel, so you can see the ink levels of the pen as you're using it. Great looking fountain pen. Pelikan makes some great products. Pelikan Souveran 805 Collection Video Script
This is the Pelikan Souveran 805 fountain pen. It comes in a gray cardboard box with the Pelikan logo printed in brown on the top of the box lid, which slides off. Included with the pen is a nice, soft, white leather carrying pouch for the pen. It has the Pelikan logo embossed on the bottom corner on the front side. It has stitching along the edges. The pouch is held together or closed with this rubber or elastic band. It has the Pelikan logo on a medallion there in the center of the elastic band. Inside the pouch we have the Pelikan Souveran 805 fountain pen. The 805 version of the fountain pen comes with chrome colored accents on the pen., chrome clip, and other rings. This is the black version of the Souveran 805. Beautiful pen. Wites very smoothly and holds a lot of ink. Perfect weight and size I feel. Only negative, and this might be nitpicking but the nib didn't arrive nice and shiny like I see online and in videos. Looks slightly dull. Other than that small detail the pen was perfect.

I bought the Stresemann in extra fine, and I love it. The weight is good, the size is good, the style is excellent. The anthracite material is stunning. I had Braden do a free nib tuning, and the pen writes pretty close to the way I like. Pelikan nibs are a little too broad for me, but it’s totally acceptable.

I purchased the Souverän 805 Stresemann from Pen Chalet and I couldn't be more happy with this writing instrument. The nib is fabulous as it is smooth, has never given a hint of a skip, and has performed well with Diamine, Iroshizuku, and Edelstein inks. On top of the performance the pen simply looks elegant and classy. Pictures do not do it justice. It is possibly my favorite fountain pen. I highly recommend the Pelikan 805 series.

This pen is wonderful! First, it looks classy. The grey stripes and silver accents are very elegant. It is a large pen and for my hands is about as big as I care to get. If you have small hands this pen might be uncomfortable. The ink capacity is excellent. The nib, I chose the Medium, is smooth and lays down a wonderful line of ink and has just a little spring to it. All in all I have nothing negative to say about this fountain pen.
