Although I think this pen is very good to excellent, I purchased not too long ago the CP-1, which I use for black ink, and then I purchased this model now for red ink, but, I more like the CP-1, it being a little better pen, as the feel with this one is a little bit slippery for the way I hold and write with a fountain pen. I would definitely recommend this pen, and the converter which I find also excellent, but, if I were to order today I would have purchased another CP-1.

This is actually my least favorite fountain pen that I currently own (out of 8). It's not a terrible pen, but it's just not as comfortable or as smooth as I came to expect with Lamy's products. When I purchased the pen, I was looking for a fountain pen with a sleeker body because I honestly thought the Lamy Safari had a barrel that was just a little too wide compared to my usual ballpoint pens, gel ink pens, etc. (My opinion for barrel size has reversed now that I'm several months into using fountain pens.) I chose the brushed aluminum because I thought the chrome would get too many fingerprints or be too slippery.

I was not as impressed with feel of this pen as I was with the Safari. It's just not as comfortable in my hand. It's a bit too end-heavy when the cap is posted, and it doesn't have the girth to really grip the pen well with that weight. Without the cap posted though, it feels a bit short and trivial. I also strangely found this nib a bit scratchy at first, but after a bit more ink and breaking in, it now writes as well as the Safaris.

The advantage of this pen is that it doesn't scream fountain pen when on my desk. It looks like a nice pen, but it's not as unusual or different as the Safari to draw attention in a meeting. That is until you uncap it and start writing. I've learned to use this pen in the right circumstances, but I don't it enjoy it as much as my Safaris, Kawecos, or Twsbis.

FAQs about the Lamy Logo

Q:
Can you refill the cartridge with a syringe and just use that as your converter for different inks if you clean it out between colors? Or just use it for a dedicated color, rather than buying a converter?
Asked on Mar 26 2017 by FaithRobin
A:
Yes, of course. Any pen that uses a cartridge can always be refilled using a syringe rather than a converter.

This is the Lamy Logo Fountain Pen. It comes in a black plastic box with the Lamy logo embossed in silver on the top of the box lid. It has a unique design to the box where the lid folds out on both sides and folds underneath, creating a stand for the pen. Included with the pen is the Lamy warranty policy. There's also a use and care guide on the underside of the box.

The Lamy Logo is a cartridge converter style pen, so Lamy includes an Lamy L10 ink cartridge in blue ink with the pen. This is the stainless, brushed stainless steel version of the Lamy Logo Fountain Pen. It has glossy, or polished chrome on the ends of the cap and the barrel of the pen and on the cap it has a nice, large chrome colored clip, spring loaded and opens nice and easily, makes it easy to get into your pocket, has the Lamy logo here on the top of the cap of the pen. You can see that brushed stainless steel on both the cap and the barrel.

The cap is compression fit so it snaps off of the top of the pen and it can be posted if you would like to. It does make a longer pen once it's posted. I think I prefer to write without the cap posted on this particular pen.

You can see that grip section has raised and lowered sections. Makes it, you know, easy to grip and a good grip for the pen as you're writing and you can see that stainless steel nib on the fountain pen. To change the ink on the Lamy Studio, you unscrew that grip section from the barrel. You can insert the ink cartridge that's included with the pen. You can also purchase a Lamy LZ26 ink converter if you want to use bottle inks on the pen.

Great fountain pen. I really like the design. It's just simple, it's basic. Get your Lamy Logo Fountain Pen at PenChalet.com!
