About the Lamy Aion
The Lamy Aion fountain pen was designed by Jasper Morrison for Lamy. The Lamy Aion achieves a new level of quality with the seamless deep-drawn aluminium body with a matte finish. The contrasting blasted grip section, glossy nib and clip contrast the silk matte finish of the pen. The spring loaded clip on the snap on/off cap is made of stainless steel.
Each Lamy Aion fountain pen has been fitted with a stainless steel nib and comes with a Lamy LZ26 converter.

The Lamy Aion pen is made of metal. The cap and barrel are turned with just plain and on both the cap and the bottom of the barrel. Silver-colored clip on the pen has a Lamy logo on the side and plain on the opposite side. The clip opens nice and wide and makes it real easy to use just by pressing the top to insert into your pocket. Compression fit on the cap, so, it snaps off and can be posted on the end of the barrel of the pen.
Same color section that matches the rest of the pen and a stainless steel nib. You can see the feed on the backside of the nib as well. Slightly different nib than some of the other Lamy pens such as the Safari or the AL-star. It has just a little bit different shape to it. Since it's a cartridge converter style pen, you change the ink by unscrewing the section from the barrel of the pen and you can insert the ink cartridge or converter. Little bit larger design than the Studio, lightweight feel to it though. Nice design, new pen from Lamy. Get your Lamy Aion fountain at PenChalet.com!

Lamy Aion Video Script
This is the Lamy Aion fountain pen. It comes in a black cardboard box with the Lamy logo in silver on the top of the box lid. That box lid lifts open. The logo is actually a latch or catch for the top of the lid. Inside is the Lamy Aion fountain pen. It is a cartridge converter fountain pen, so included with the pen is one Lamy ink cartridge as well as a Lamy LZ26 fountain pen converter for bottled inks. The Lamy Aion pen is made of metal. Lamy Aion Reviews
It is very nice and balanced pen. It is solid performer. Only one thing if you have big hand or if you like big grip. Very smooth writter. Colour is nice.

I adore Lamy pens, specially the studios so I gave this a try because they seem similar … but oof. I don’t know what it is about the body of this but the coating feels weird to me to hold. Like slightly grainy and slightly textured almost. It also for some reason didn’t take my Lamy converters … idk this model is a miss for me

I am very happy with the Aion. It is stylish and comfortable and writes very well. It's a little heavy, but that's fine. I chose it over the Lamy 2000, which had a few reviews about problem nibs. It was not really a "step down" except in cost.

Great! “Medium” nib is really smooth and pen writes well unposted. It’s my Noodler’s “Baystate Blue” pen as I chose the blue pen (have a black as well) and the color of ink and pen just “Pop”! No worries about ink staining with the solid body. Cap and body are very slightly different in tone.

The Aion writes very well, but the shape is unique. Writing with this pen feels different than the other fountain pens I use. It's not bad, just different.

The nib for some reason writes Smoothly across the paper better than Lamy Nexx with the same EF nib size. The EF nib on Lamy Nexx has feedback when writing. The line width also seems to be narrower on this pen compared to the Lamy Nexx with the same EF nib.
Nice hefty pen with excellent design. However, I found the included converter to fit loose not super tight onto the back of the feed but it does not seem to detach from the back of the feed unit.

A good, well-balanced, solid-feeling pen with the reliability I have come to expect from Lamy. I had been somewhat apprehensive about the metal section, but most of the time I don't even notice it anymore. Decent candidate for a "step-up" pen from a Safari or Al-Star.

Pros:
- Great finish
- Quality materials
- Sylish appearance
Cons
- Very front / nib heavy
- Nib skipped out of the box (replaced with Safari nib)
- Clip is smooth going on, but toothy coming out of a shirt / bag and will tug at threads.
- Cap is wobbly, though mine isn’t as bad as some others.

This is my favorite fountain pen. I have the Aion in olivesilver with an EF nib.
I love the elegant minimalism of this pen. It’s the perfect diameter for my hands. I love the weight of the pen - it’s just heavy enough to feel quality, without being too heavy. The pen is also an excellent length, and posts deeply. It can be used posted or unposted equally well. The silver finish is reminiscent of a MacBook finish, with excellent brushed texture and a satisfying cool temperature.
The nib seems to write more true to size than the Safari nibs, meaning this EF is more of a true EF than the normal F. I like that. I also like that this pen includes a converter. The cap snaps on very satisfyingly. The section is comfortable and easy to hold.
I think this is the Lamy 2000 for 2018. It’s elegant and modern.
