About the Gioia Partenope
The Gioia Partenope fountain pen features a stroke of design genius combining a fountain pen (cartridge/converter compatible with standard international size) and rollerball pen (compatible with Parker-style ballpoint pen refills) in a single design.
The Gioia Partenope fountain pen clip is made using an ancient goldsmith's technique called "lost wax casting" and the finial depicts the beauty of the Gulf of Naples. The Gioia Partenope fountain pen's enameled crown is created using a 3D process. The various design elements combine to create a modern silhouette that is obviously born of Italy.
Each Gioia Partenope fountain pen features a double ink filling system (piston filling and standard cartridge), and is fitted with an iridium-tipped #6 JoWo steel nib available in varying nib sizes.
Changing the Gioia Partenope from a fountain pen to a rollerball and back again is simple. Just unscrew the front portion of the pen (including the nib or tip and section) from the barrel and replace the entire front section with the alternate version. The "rollerball" version of the Gioia Partenope is compatible with a Parker ballpoint pen refill.

Absolutely gorgeous pen. Very clever design. So far I haven't tried the fountain pen insert. After I use up all the ink in the roller ball insert, I'll switch to the fountain pen.

This is a great pen. I love the fact that it can be a rollerball as well as a fountain pen - a real two-fer! It fits beautifully in my hand and writes like silk sliding over glass. The ivory resin sets off the red, green, and white trim ring so well. Photographs just don't do it justice.
And a special shoutout to the folks at Pen Chalet for their always-superb packing and speedy shipping of my order. Love the little extra sample they put in my box, it's already in this pen writing away. :-)

Great pen, esthetically beautiful and also a wonderful writer. It's well made, with lots of attention to detail. I prefer larger pens, and the Gioia Partenope fits the bill perfectly.
