I wanted a 'next level' pen and became enchanted with the Conklin Crescent Filler. I enjoy demontrator pens so i opted. Originally for the rose gold but the wonderful staff here told me that it wasn't available. In it's stead they recommended the demontrator with black trim. They even accommodated my desire for a M nib instead of a stub.
Pen Chalet even shipped in a non standard way to satisfy me.
The only thing that concerns me is the way the clip is 'fastened'to the cap. It seems secure but moves a bit.

FAQs about the Conklin Mark Twain Demonstrator Crescent Limited Edition

Q:
Do you have carry the Concklin Demonstrator black Trim with STUB nib? I searched this pen, with the specific characteristic but, I don't find it.
Asked on Dec 9 2015 by Benjamin
A:
Yes we sell the Conklin Crescent in the black with a stub nib. This product is the demonstrator version. There is also an opaque version of the pen that comes in black, red and orange.
Q:
Ed Jelley mentioned in his review that the stub nib does not have the crescent breather hole that the "normal" nib has. Could you tell me whether the Fine and/or the Stub nib have the crescent hole?
Asked on Mar 19 2014 by Christian
A:
On the Conklin Mark Twain Demonstrator with the black trim the stub nib is slightly different than the other nibs. It does have a breather hole but it does not have the gold inlay. It is a solid black and not a two tone nib like the fine and medium nibs.

Conklin Mark Twain Demonstrator Crescent Limited Edition Video

Video Script

This is the Limited Edition Conklin Mark Twain Crescent Filler Fountain Pen. It comes in a traditional blue faux leather box with the Conklin logo embossed in gold on the top. Included with the pen is the registration instructions and the crescent filler instructions on how to use the pen.

This is a demonstrator style pen. It comes in either black or rose gold trim. This is the black version of the pen. First, we have a black clip with the Conklin logo. Around the ring we have printed the Conklin logo and on the back side of the pen is the Mark Twain signature limited edition and the number of the pen. They made 1,898 of these pens, that was the year, 1898, in which Conklin was established.

Here is the crescent filler portion of the pen and then a black ring around the bottom portion of the pen. To remove the you simply unscrew it and you can post it on the pen. To use this crescent filler to fill the ink into the pen there is a c-shape locking mechanism. It's just a little band that runs around the center portion of the barrel of the pen. You twist that band, or the c-shape locking mechanism, until the little groove aligns with the crescent filler, that allows you to pump the crescent filler. To fill the pen with ink you would simply push that down, put the pen inside of your ink, release the crescent filler, that would draw the ink into the center chamber of the pen. You repeat that process until the pen has been filled with ink.

The black version of the pen comes with a black nib, the rose gold will come with a gold nib.

This crescent filler was originally designed by Roy Conklin who invented and patented it when he began production in 1898.

This is one of the world's only, or self pratical, self filling pens that's simple and easy to use. Get yours today at PenChalet.com
